Tauto: I personally think that is incorrect as the biggest percentage in this forum are dumber than a wet sock in a two sock race.
It's easier to downrate and live in your own little dreamworld with fluffy pink unicorns and rainbows out your arse, people don't want reality.

It's a forum, i don't really start said subjects, but i'll comment if one pops up, eitherway a thread will appear about something political, and unless the mods remove it, people will comment on it.

I've started playing the game I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. People need to play this. And if one were to finish the game and spot just a little of that hatred and love of torture that AM the main antagonist has; maybe it is time to reconsider why you have to be right all the time.

I went through that awhile back. There are still people I speak to that assume I agree with everything they said because they thought that was where the conversation was leading. Sorry, but just because I didn't agree with you completely or made points why you were mistaken doesn't make me bad.

We are all individuals, even if we are products of our environment, we still have life experiences that are different from each other.

Communication from one human to another human means dealing with discussing subjects you don't agree with and don't see eye to eye on. Even if any of the humans identify as something other than human. I've seen a story where a woman said she was a cat. She's not harming anybody and she's not expecting anyone to take care of her. She just loves cat and acting as one.

kai2: IMHO voting on reputation is only relevant as a way for GOG to "enlist" users to take up moderation's under-staffing slack. It was obviously meant to alert GOG's small moderation staff to flashpoints -- harassment, bullying, and consistent anti-community behavior -- but probably was never meant to denote simple disagreements or differences of opinion. But -- in most cases I've seen (and in my experience) -- that's exactly how it's predominantly being used.

As I see it, GOG should make contacting a mod regarding harassment, bullying, and "destructive" behavior much easier (maybe a button for mod review?), but any problem should be directly between a mod the focus of the complaint (unless moderation sees a need for public understanding of the situation), and certainly not in a reputation system.

Personally, the reputation system has made me ambivalent toward sharing anything on this board. When I share a personal post and watch my reputation slide, it saps all interest in continuing.

GameRager: The funny thing is he dislikes me replying to him and doesn;t want me to yet he replies in my threads all the time.....you'd think if he dislikes/disliked me he'd stay away from my threads. :|

1. This is true/spot on

2. AM sometimes reminds me of some on the net/irl who think it's ok to harass/insult/etc others due to perceived slights or the bad actions of others of the same group of people. Some need to take a lesson from that as well, imo.

3. People do this with me/others a lot.....I agree with them on a few points then if I side with others against other points they make I am somehow tainted/bad in their eyes. They assume that if I side with them on one thing that I must also side with them on everything else.

4. This is also true.

5. As long as that woman doesn't want to live on cat food, try to surgically change her body to be like a cat to where it harms her health, or demands the law and everyone else call/think of her as a cat then i'm ok with such.

AB2012: I did find it strange at first, but I don't think it's random at all given the people affected the most are the ones that either constantly talk about politics the most, start political threads or have political avatars / subheadings under their names.

hedwards: Sometimes I can't figure out which posts are being downmodded. I assume it's because somebody is going into older threads to downrep.
With me they go into my own threads first and downrate everything by me/those they can;'t get to side against me, then they hit my posts in other threads that they dislike the topics of or even random nice comments and well wishes to others.

On "slow" days where I post less and they have less to downrate they hit whatever they can find....sad really.

His list is probably nothing compared to BreOL's....the dude/lass is a good user but they tend to ignore mostly anyone that rubs them the wrong way initially. I would assume, then, that that list must be very long.

Also Tiny would never use such things as it's likely he LIKES reading such posts so he can derail the thread with them in it(and other things).

Theoretically, that's not supposed to happen, but it seems to be beyond the ability of GOG to enforce. I tend to think that there are bots involved with some of these hits. Or at least many multis.

But, then again, the site has grown rather large the last few years.

Mine usually goes down 4-5 points in the space of around a half hour. Either everyone who dislikes me agrees to sign on and downrate all at once or it's alts/bots.
