eisberg77: Can you please provide the same kind of deal for Hellblade. Looks like Ninja Theory is not bringing out VR for Hellblade tomorrow. Can you guys look more into it, and perhaps provide the same kind of deal for Hellblade owners as you did for No Man's sky owners?
And here you have your VR Hellblade :)

MIK0: You may have a point there. But the alternative is to open the store to cut down version of games like happened with Armello, so I don't know which one would be the best choice.
Anyway it would be wise to close partnership with HG, maybe leaving NMS as the only game on the catalogue if they happen to makes more in the future. There are a lot of iteresting games that wouldn't have brought so much issues to GOG like this one and still are not allowed on the store.
avatar
styggron: I disagree completely. I would not want GoG to close the partnership with HG. As I said, for people such as myself who have zero interest in MP or anything online with NMS, what we have is 100% perfect so at least keep the status quo.

Might it mean there are "cut down versions on GoG ? Yes possibly. So long as it is offline and no MP, then people like me will be perfectly fine with that. A cut down version is still a version those of us who like to play offline are able to have.

It is good they are offering refunds for people that want it but I am perfectly happy with offline NMS and I sincerely hope GoG keeps their partnership for people who have zero interest in MP. I do not want to be "punished" because people who want MP suggest GoG break their partnership with HG.

Anyway, lets hope GoG keeps everything as is and just ensures people are well informed before making their purchase then everything is hunky dory :)
Well, I guess that again you made a fair point :)
I only hope this doesn't bring a bad trend of developer pushing unfinished product just because they want to control their games even when they have the means to provide a complete version and still being drm-free. I also wish those version with different content to be named accordingly to avoid confusion. For instance Armello: arrested developement edition, NMS: single player edition, Battletech: DRM infused edition.

If Gog finally gets the multiplayer,That would be cool Other wise I am perfectly content with this bad ass game as a solo player. The first thing I would do if it had Multiplayer is toggle that mofo Off because Multi player is full of Trolls and Hunter Killers ...probly from the same very peeps bitching about it . I would only be in on the weekly events if any thing. Peeps like to bitch to bitch, STFU and actually play the game damn. I loved NMS from the begining they never disapointed me . GOG is DRM free this is the reason...It is NOT HELLO GAMES FAULT Your putting blam in the wrong place.
I appreciate the gesture, but I'm not interested in punishing GOG for Hello Games' mistakes. Classy move though.
Truly incredible work, a landmark game So grateful, but PLEASE ENOGH! with the storms PLEASE! far too frequet just ruins the game!

I agree devs need to do things properly. HG does not exactly have a good reputation but they seem to be going a lot of work to try and make reparations. I'm still going to wait another year or so before I try NMS again. Last time I played it was on release where after 3 days I said goodbye to it and uninstalled it. It has changed a great deal since and I must say I am tempted into giving it a go but not just yet.

Kudos to GoG as always.

LordIvan: Someone offers you a hand, you bite it off at the shoulder, beat them with the bloody stump of their arm, and then proudly proclaim your victory on an online forum while waving said bloody arm like a banner.

It would have been classier to just post saying 'wow, gog were great, it took a bit of effort, but they even refunded me by paypal as required by Australian law. Above and beyond!'

Though it would have made fascinating popcorn watching to see this go to court. The basis of your refund is ' no multiplayer', it would be interesting to see if that would stand up as a 'problem that would have stopped someone buying it had they known.'
Was multiplayer listed on the store page in original release? They alluded to it during the years of product development for sure, but that was not on the store listing, right?

In addition, given that most review raitings are pretty good these days, the product obviously 'works as reasonably expected' by most people. Then there's the question of how would a game fit in the cirteria of 'length of time for which it is reasonable for the product to be used', given that it's two years after your original purchase.

That's not even considering whether you could even call it the same product given that it's been patched 3 times now and barely resembles the original game.

In all seriousness, I wish they hadn't refunded so we could all watch the court case. You could have made history.

HMPinto: This is Australian consumer law mate.
I just got a full refund to my paypal too. Not GOG wallet, because it's useless to me as I don't see anything I want to buy on GOG right now.
The games I'm interested in I already have them on GOG or on Steam. So I would have AU $61.99 stuck on GOG wallet credit forever.

And thank you again GOG.

This is why you're the best. And this is why I chose to buy NMS on GOG.COM rather than any other platform, even though I knew full well that multiplayer support would be delayed. (Of course I'm not going to ask for a refund.)

So far I've spent 231 so far in the game. Asking for a refund now would be pretty ... wicked.

For those that really counted on multiplayer, I can understand the frustration and disappointment. For myself, I don't do multiplayer, so that didn't bother me. I have to say this update really made the game a lot of fun for me and I've been playing it exclusively since the NEXT update released.

Guess it's time to start over then... after I finish my re-run of Witcher 3. Can't play two huge games alongside.
Honestly, I'm hoping for a happy ending to this whole thing - even though I haven't purchased the game yet. From comments in this thread, it sounds like a whole bunch of post-release effort has turned it into the game that people were hoping they were buying from the get-go, and kudos to HG for not leaving the project in the lurch. That's not quite an 'attaboy', but at least I'll consider it a strong effort toward redemption.

Good luck to Hello Games, and I hope they get DRM-free multiplayer sorted for those customers who want to try it.

Did you request your refund before July 29, 10:00 PM UTC? If not, then you wouldn't qualify for it.

Oh, and I'd advise against posting your email address openly on the internet.
