That's crazy how you can make 5 million dollars just by slapping some lame internet memes on a deck of cards.

Why didn't you do it then?

1) Get it mentioned by Total Biscuit and Jesse Cox while they do their Co-Optional broadcast.
They regularly get thanked by websites each time they're mentioned since those sites usually goes down for 3 days afterwards with being just so busy and getting so much product sold.

2) Do something that isn't going to have a huge failure rate like making video games.
Developing table-top games are probably easier and faster to make, since it comes down to basic planned structuring, and art. Doesn't hurt to be funny too.

3) Start the project when there's probably a lot of people wanting to fund something.
Seriously, there's probably a lot of people who set aside a hundred dollars and want to help fund something and don't know what to do. I'll do that sometimes and then give $5 to 20 projects or so, assuming all 20 hit their funding mark.

Looks like insane stretch goals are partially completed. Impressive :)
Hmm they couldn't keep up with normal stretch goals involving money, so they made them achievements instead...

Wow... This will hit 6 million before the date turns up... It will be one of the most successful and largest KS's so far, and it better well damn succeed or i'll lose all faith in KS.
So basically, to get rich you need to make a weird version of Uno card game.
Interesting thought for non-lazy peeps out there. :)

I find this even crazier:

Only three days left in this project. All stretch goals have been reached. The number of backers have passed 160,000 and funding has passed $6,300,000.

Anyone who has been meaning to back this but has been putting it off had better get to it right away.

OneFiercePuppy: It's The Oatmeal. He raised millions to build a Goddamn Tesla museum. Of course a Kickstarter with his name on it would go high explosive.
A gifted impressario for sure. But I'd take any info from him (aside from his entreprenuerial projects) with a grain of salt. Just sayin'. :-)
