The first thing that comes to my mind is Jack Orlando. One of the worst adventures I've ever played, but the "noir" soundtrack by Harold Faltermeyer is really good.

Those were two of the best fps in the 90s. Highly underrated.

I ran both games on Windows 7.

Right click on the game icon and select "run as administrator".

Then change further to run in either "compatibility mode" or the "Windows 98".

Worked fine for me.

That's fine and dandy but even if it wasn't crash happy you'd still have two terrible games.

The only reason for the positive ratings I could think of is that few people who bothered to review those games were mostly the ones who played and loved it when it was originally released. But there are a couple negative ones - which are spot-on - also.

The only thing I could add: unfinished, or at very least it feels that way. I actually had a boxed copy long time ago that I later switched for a mind copy of SiN with my school mate. I had to force myself to finally finish Blood 2 when I was playing it two years ago (took me three weeks in total), I just skipped the expansion.

Not sure if it qualifies as "excellent", but Beyond Divinity is an awful game with a pretty good soundtrack. It's somewhat paradox, though, while the complete soundtrack is an impressive 3 hours 16 minutes long it seemed to me that the same three musical pieces are played over and over in the game.

If you liked Divine Divinity and/or its soundtrack, skip Beyond Divinity and just listen to the music. However, to get the complete soundtrack you probably have to buy the game, as the soundtrack downloadable from http://www.kirillpokrovsky.com/ contains only 9 out of the 53 musical pieces included in the gog version and the game itself, but there is also one (chasing the destiny) that is not part of it.

Edit: A lot of the music included in the GOG soundtrack and the game itself is actually from the previous game, Divine Divinity. There are still more original ones than in the download above, but to avoid duplicates, some manual sorting is necessary, as the titles are different. They can be spotted quite easily by comparing the length, though.

RoboWarrior for the NES got fantastic music, the game is terrible though.

Shadow of the Beast II on the Commodore Amiga. It was worth getting killed just to hear THIS piece of music.

The game itself was actually very good, just I was terrible at it and died lots, hence hearing that piece of music copious amounts of times when playing.

This is the fourth thread this week, where I start reading and it such a great topic with really good posts, I go halfway through it, my mind starts wandering about examples I experienced, only to then discovered that it's a necro from 3 years ago. And it's only Tuesday!

There must be something special about 2015 since almost all necros are from that year.
