Hate to say this, but the public voting doesn't look all public in some cases (let alone the jury votings). Telephone voting might have been half decent at the times of hard-wired lines, but nowadays? There are countries with political parties, who put a lot of money in everything that let them look like winners, be it sports, history, stories of black and white in the media or even an international song contest.

No offence meant to any countrymen, it's just my two cents on the results.
Just, woah Belgium! Well done! And France too. Two most stage-present performances in the final, IMO.

In view that Australia would not have hosted ESC 2017 anyway, it was the public vote that saved the ESC establishment from having to face that embarrassment. On with Timberlake on half-time if the will is there, I think.

Take Finland. One win in all this time, and ritualistic grousing. But Eurovision is seen as a positive institution - we do not even flirt with the notion of stepping away. Belonging is quite its own merit.

Your one win beats the half dozen or so we've got combined. Most awesome moment in in eurovision history as far as I'm concerned. I never thought you'd make it with such a song.

And if we let countries from outside of Europe participate then they should also be allowed to host the competition.
They had another one already? (i was so embarrassed Australia was offerred a place and even hosting in an article recently...there really is no justification for any of us to take part in an EU competition -- just launch and AsiaVision competition already --- plenty of jpop/kpop talent out there)...

I don't really understand it either. I mean it already has countries like Israel and Azerbaidjan which have geographically nothing to do with Europe. But freaking Australia which is on the other side of the world. Why then call it Eurovision. Just call it Earthvision or whatever. Next step is that Australia joins the Uefa, and applies for an EU membership.

Wouldn't be surprised if someone tried that. Its a real joke.
Fourth again, but it's a success nevertheless! (In 1994 we were 4th in the FIFA World Cup, the highest place we've achieved in this tournament)

catpower1980: Just voted for Bulgaria because of the best mix between babe/song/show IMO ^o^

Tarm: I'm rooting for Bulgaria.
Thanks for your support, we've got the highest place ever this year!

The answer to all this simply lies in the fact that Eurovision is organised by the European Broadcasting Union:

I lol'd. If those are good vocals for you then you surely have ear infection. :P

leon30: Justin - 0
His back vocals - 6
Now i'm pretty sure it's not just infection. xD

They were the best vocals on this Eurovision imho. As per Justin, just because he's Justin and had great songs, and can definitely sing, doesn't mean that the song he performed on Eurovision was good, or the performance overall - his voice was on the music level and on the back vocals level, which were good hence my score for that.

P.S. Not going to enter in more discussions about that, since discussions with fans are totally pointless.

If i liked Eurovision at all (i don't), i would certainly love this one. Ukraine won and "we" got ousted. Last time i was happy about a Eurovision was one many years ago, the one in which Lordi won (those freaks who dress like monsters)! "We" is usually the one to break my ears, damn...
