like really 10 mins i watched till londen.

why!!!..

so you have those so called "celestial" just say angels
but what do my eyes see, humans and not only humans fat people asian people, even a fish beared white man.

my first thought Why the F*** are they even look like humans?.
second thought why the **** are they not looking perfect (they are perfect creatures)
third thought why the Blip blip do they use nano technolgy? the freaking story already said they first made a star!.
that means they need materials before the universe was even existing. that why magic comes in handy at least that even more logical then nano bullshit.
and the last if those called diviants come from from a other universe, a other galaxy thought those Celestials are the first to create so they create those diviants never mind it's a shit movie don't waste your time.

no wonder the movie flops i could not even take 10 mins of the movie
Well, pretty much all Marvel or DC superhero movies suck as movies, so what did you expect? Like all the Avengers movies are total trash for simple kiddies.

To this day, I can't understand why the boring and cliched superhero movies are so successful. They are not even entertaining as dumb movies.

I heard so many good things about the original Wonder Woman movie so I thought maybe it will change my mind... but no. So predictable, so cookie-cutter, so cliched. Where was the suspense? Were you ever even excited, sorry or worried on any of the characters in the movie? Or hated the cliched antagonist?

F U, superhero movies.
That's kind of hilarious, I just tried watching it about three hours ago, and quit like 15 minutes into it. I wasn't even shocked by anything particularly bad, I just had this realisation that I simply don't give a shit. That I just really don't want to sit through two more hours of another Marvel film and watch these boring characters fight lame CG monsters.

I totally disagree with timppu about superhero movies being bad in general, like with every genre there's good and bad stuff, but there definitely used to be more good ones back when every adaptation was doing its own thing -, Singer's X-Men films were one thing, Raimi's Spider-Man another, Nolan's Batman yet anotehr and so on. Some I liked, some I didn't, but the genre as a whole was kept fresh by the different styles and tones. Now the Marvel films feel like the exact same movie over and over again. Thankfuly DC is at least sometimes still doing something different (Joker, Snyder's Justice League), but when they try to just be Marvel we get shit like Birds of Pray or Wonder Woman 84.

So yeah, instead of sitting through Eternals I switched it off and watched... Dora the Explorer and the Lost City of Gold. Yes, seriously. It's actually pretty good... in a way. It's completely bonkers with teenage Dora acting like her cartoon self interacting with the real world, and some surreal stuff like her talking to pet her monkey about how mercaneries are going to murder her parents... and the monkey answers with the voice of Danny Trejo. I'm not sure what audience this was going for, but I did find a lot of it really funny. And hey - at least it's short, little over 90 minutes, unlike Marvel's usual 2,5 hours.

I recently watched two lengthy biopics, Gandhi and Wyatt Earp, and loved both of them - those are the kind of films that need damn lengthy run time, not the Marvel formula CGI beat'em up.

These movies are made to indoctrinate children, why would any adult watch them.

You are describing the Eternals, not the Celestials. The Celestials are the giant, armored god beings that, based on the comics, created the Deviants, the Humans, and the Eternals to protect the Humans from the Deviants. From what I read (I never watched it), later in the movie you see one of the Celestials. If you watched Guardians of the Galaxy, there is a video of another wielding the infinity stone in a staff.

Also, the reviews were that even fans of the Marvel movies didn't like Eternals at all. But, I suspected that was going to happen as they really don't fit into the existing group at all... especially with plot holes the size of Celestials themselves.
I agree with Breja. Not all superhero movies are bad but it is pick and choose. Eternals was just a bad movie that I dont think anyone liked. Suffered from the same stupid problem of trying to introduce a ton of heroes and villains, expecting us to just instantly care for them and care about why they are important while also adding plotholes into the lore to make these characters more relevant (oh so they protect the universe? Would be nice if they were active when certain major events happened).

Marvel is fine in moderation but the problem with Hollywood is they cant seem to make any other good movies. 007 is down the drain, Star Wars is dead, Matrix is dead. Mission Impossible is solid but the exception rather than the rule.

When I see new movie that is made by or colaborated with: Disney / Marvel / DC, I'm already no longer interested.
That said Blade (1999) was a good superhero movie though, even if it ripped off The Matrix.

good to know my choice not watching these due to very bad expectations was a good one

sadly now comes the anime/influencer generation

I hate superhero media so much it's unreal.

The problem is Hollywood cant make anything good so superhero is all we get. Nothing really appealing although the pandemic keeps us inside anyway.

What are people watching anyway? I gave the Witcher tv show a fair shot and its kinda boring to be honest. I like that Cavill takes the material and lore seriously but without him, the show is ok.

Cobra Kai is fun and at least tells a decent story which is surprisingly rare these days. TV is mostly for background noise while I focus on work now.

The only TV shows I've watched in recent years would be The Expanse, The Terror, Chernobyl and Altered Carbon.

I don't know why people are so fixated on watching only the newest stuff, even when they bemoan it's bad quality. In todays world everyone with Internet has easy access to tons of fantastic older (which at this point can mean anything from 90s to 30s) movies and shows, whether its on streaming or on DVD/BluRay. Literally decades worth of great movies and TV, but people act like things not on the front page of Netflix don't exist.

I think this is part of the problem. And I don't mean it with any offence towards you personally. It's just that I hear something like that often, and I think it's part of why we get so much crappy TV these days - people got used to watching it "with one eye", paying it only a fraction of their attention, and that can only work with shows that are kinda dumb, slow, explain things 5 times and now they can get away with plot holes anyway.

If you tried to watch something like The Sandbaggers without giving it your full attention you'd be lost in 5 minutes. It's hands down one of the best, smartest TV series I know, but I feel like today's audience genuinely wouldn't know what to do with it.

It's okay, the problem with The Expanse was that they had (good) material for maybe 1 and a half season, certainly not 4.

It's like watching a sports season despite it being slow and uneventful. Even if you are not interested in it, it can fuel a conversation. I have a lot of difficulty communicating, and it helps sometimes.
