adaliabooks: Believe me, I have... I solved both of those at the time, and again a few days ago.
avatar
Urnoev: Well, then you should have a start at least, right? Have you found the first, most obvious "esoteric"?
Yeah, I've got the first bit and what I think might be a second bit... though I'm not sure on that.

If you've seen the message, just do what it says. I searched for a while in the wiki, to see what could fit, and ZFR more or less confirmed it. That's what the edit in the first post is about, by the way. :)

Yeah, I think I may need to try harder to find an interpreter... I'll have another crack.

Wishbone: It's tricky, but as always with ZFR's work, it is also very elegant. I was extremely impressed.
avatar
ZFR: For extra elegance, here is a much more compact version
http://pastebin.com/raw/5dsCG0gR

This is what I should have created for the challenge. The idea of how to make it smaller without affecting my restrictions came to me just as I was finishing it. But I was in a hurry to post, so I put the larger version that I had, since completing the smaller one would have taken me some time to finish.
I'll let the original stand, but looking at this, and comparing to the original, *might* give those who haven't solved it some ideas (or it might send them in the wrong direction, so be careful).
Well, it's more compact, sure, but I must admit that I liked the elegant simplicity of the original one, even if it is more "wasteful".

Apart from that, I don't think the new version will neither help nor hinder anyone.

Finding an interpreter shouldn't be difficult. Finding one that will actually work for the full stretch is another matter. If you ask ZFR, he will happily guide you to one that works. Provided you are actually looking for the right kind of interpreter, of course ;-)

After some help from ZFR, I found the 10 numbers from the second language output. You've guessed it, I'm stuck there. Tried some things, but to no avail. A hint on how to proceed would be lovely, you early solvers :)

Check the previous two giveaways. In (roughly) ZFR's own words: "I might have reused an idea or two." :)

Yes, as Urnoev said, check the previous GAs and their solutions if you haven't alread.

We had a 4th solver: adaliabooks. Game still not claimed.

It is a very clever puzzle. I personally found it the most difficult of the three so far.
The second version did help a little for me, made me realise that something I had dismissed as random was actually intended.

No it wasn't so much the interpreter that was the issue in the end (I had found a number that worked, though I hadn't realised how to use one of the online ones properly), more just ignoring the wrong things and a lack of knowledge to recognise a hint.
This is just too awesome for me. Nope nope nope. Looks beautiful, though.

Thanks much, but after trying out ever more obscure possible or - as it turns out - impossible solutions (while looking at those previous GAs), I'm done for today.

Well, just don't forget to come back. It is important to remember such things.

You're looking for something "hidden". The question is where.

And for those interested, I'll discuss some of the technicalities of this GA, how it changed from what I initially wanted it to look like, and the reason I thought it would be the easiest of the three, after I post the solution.

The only thing I found was ESOTERIC GIVEAWAY and GOG.com
