I would post this in the Eschalon subforum but that is not exactly the most active place.

There are some mods for the Eschalon series (a very bizarre install style if I interpret the instructions correctly), however, a lot of the download archives from the Eschalon forums (http://basiliskgames.com/forums/) seem to be corrupt and will not allow me to install them.

Would anyone happen to have copies of some of these mods? Like Thaermore Revisited?

Maybe if more people posted in specific games subforum instead of the general forum they would be more active ;) Although Galaxy does seem to be a culprit here as it is reported that it directs users straight here no matter what.

Anyway, just checked the 'Thaermore Revisited' download and it needs to be opened/extracted with 7-Zip, it doesn't work with just plain zip. Hope this helps.

WinRar is, for all it's worth, not exactly up with the times. 7Zip is pretty much the defacto for Windows these days, or p7.

Unfortunately, Winrar does seem to have problems opening some archives. I must say I've been pleased with 7-Zip which opens anything I throw at it.

So I decided to give it a try, 7Zip seemed to work with the Thaermore Revisited mod, however, for the SaveGame mods such as RDs Book 1 and the other two: Salted Coast and ElderHollow, 7zip crashes and gives an error message saying that they cannot be opened as archives.

Is there another extraction software that is required?

I think possibly that the actual archive may be corrupt (although I only downloaded and tested RDs Book 1). However, there are other extraction tools you could use to check, a short list can be found here;

I've never tried any of the extractors on the list apart from 7-Zip so have no idea if they will work. Good luck though.

Sorry I can't help you with this as I never used these mods. I did try repairing those archive files with several different programs but none of them were successful.

Thanks for trying. I'm really not sure what happened to the archives.

Hopefully someone on this planet has a working copy of these mods.
