I'd say, Episode VII was OK. Unoriginal and a shameless carbon copy of Episode IV, but well done and it was nice seeing Chewie and Han again after all those years.

But Episode VIII was embarrassing. So many plot-holes and inconsistencies. So many unlikable characters doing completely idiotic things.

I think it's good that they brought J.J. Abrams back. Better than the alternative at least. But since it's still Kathleen who is producing this movie, she will still meddle until the movie is an illogical mess. So this will actually be the first major Star Wars movie which I won't watch in cinema. Watching it some time later on some streaming service is good enough.

No joke: in the Poe Dameron comics series (which is supposed to be 100% canon) C-3PO is revealed to be the Resistance's head of intelligence and is considered a "master spy" by the First Order.

I know this will probably make no sense to anyone but me, but while The Last Jedi is indeed a worse movie than the Force Awakens, I liked it more. Or at least I considered it more worth watching. I'd rather watch a really bad movie which is bad in interesting ways than a boring, bland rip-off that doesn't even leave me with an interesting conversation. I can have more fun with a bad movie than a boring mediocre one.

That plus I have to say that, as shit as Episode VIII was in terms of characters and plot, at least it had some really nice visuals. I mean, I'm not saying it redeems the movie, but there is no universe where this isn't a great shot.

Actually I've made peace with my decision never to personally spend a dime on the franchise ever again. It is freeing actually to just ignore the hype and dismiss the Disney made stuff as blatant trash.

Not to say that I haven't watched any of the newer stuff, I just waited until it came onto free-to-air television and "endured" the films inbetween advertisements for other products designed to siphon money from brainless customers. That is payment enough in my book.

According to leaks it's just a corrupted microchip, that also contains directions to some Episode IX mcguffin (and that's why it was installed). Basically, most of the episode Rey and Kylo will be searching for that device.

The problem here is that it's simply true. Kennedy has been promoting the "female star wars" thing for a few years now. She said outright that this series is NOT for men and us blokes were apparently the reason the last sack of piss wasn't well received.

I think it's justified having an issue with it because it's not conspiracy theory or whatever. It's a solid fact.
