The red wall seems to be our only lead in the search of Roosevelt and the Hag. Of course, everything seems to be a trap or at least an occupational hazard.

Doc0075: ** I would like everyone to post any new equipment/ loot they have and also how many spells they have cast. If you have a summoned creature, please say what turn you summoned it **
Equipment:
* Silver longsword
* Plate armor

Spells cast:
* 1x Turn Undead

Spells left:
* 2x Heal
* 2x Cure disease

(And I think those will be kept as backup for as long as we have Tanea).

We can try and throw one of these human bones at the wall and see what happens. If it goes through the wall then perhaps this is one of those illusion walls that you can walk through. In case it happens to be a trap, we should all stand outside the room to prevent getting hurt.
I'm going to guess that the glowing red slab is most likely a trap because when Gilius cast Find Traps into the right room, it pulled up the glowing red slab. So either Peloquin needs to try and disarm it, or since it appears magical in nature, one of our mages should try and dispel it. Not too fond of throwing something at it but if no one is in the room I can try and see if it disarms it.
Coughing out the smoke, and shaking his head at the ruins of one magical item, Roy will take a closer inspection at the painting he holds in his hands.

So far, Roy has cast 4 spells, and has an additional 2 potions of healing that came with his meal, in addition to starting items.
I wonder if the Hag got trapped with her sisters, run out of food, and resorted to cannibalism... That would explain the recently consumed bodies despite the magical barrier which had the witch trapped.

I can't believe I am going to suggest this, but... perhaps we should carry some of the bones with us (preferibly with some meat left on them) in case we find wild animals again.

Throwing one at the red wall as a last resort doesn't seem too bad. I too prefer someone better-versed on magic or traps to take a look.

Good idea. Also in case Roy, our half-orc, starts getting hangry. :D
Captain's Log Stardate 73259.1
A horror show before my eyes... bones skewed about on the floor, a half eaten body in the corner, and the smell of death permeated the room where the Hag had been. There was no sign of Roosevelt or any clues where she could have gone but logic dictated that she would have nowhere to teleport to but what lied beyond this room. Our only clue was a slab of wall that glowed red. Was it a trap? Or perhaps some doorway to the Hag's inner lair? Time was running out for Roosevelt and we need to act quickly if we even wanted a chance at saving his life.

I walk inside the right room and inspect/loot the body in the corner looking for anything useful or something to identify who he or she was while thinking to myself "Please don't be Roosevelt". I grab some hunks of flesh off the body and a few bones off the ground. I then move outside the right room just to the side of the entrance and wait to see if a mage or thief can disarm the red slab. If their attempts fail or no one tries to act against the red slab, I then tell everyone, "Everyone, move out of the room. I'm going to try and throw this bone at the glowy wall to see what it does." I then throw the bone at the red slab and hide behind the wall. If the bone goes through the slab or it disarms the trap or someone else manages to disarm it then I walk through/in the wall and inspect what is inside with shield raised ready for anything.

Tanea, Halfling Shaman (female)
I'm dumbfounded. After I shook of the shock of what happened moments ago and realizing that Roosevelt really isn't here with us anymore, I wonder where we should start looking for him. Again the coldness stirs. What is that?! Then I remembered the movement through the left door and sure enough, when I looked the door was closed, so I stomped over, opened it while starting with "Hiding in here ..." just to have a cloud of smoke take my breath and have me scramble away from the doorway in the raw fear of getting trampled by those trying to escape the fire, that sure must be raging somewhere in there. And ... nothing happens. Well, Gilius clears the smoke and yells at me. Strangely enough, he asks me if I can "use my Ice Elemental to extinguish the fire"? It's not mine. It sure wouldn't listen to me. And wouldn't fire hurt it? It's "made" out of ice, isn't it? I don't know about these things. Why can't the Stone Elemental try? I've never seen a stone melt or burn. But ... noone even tries to get out of the room?! And when I look for the fire, I see Web, Peloquin and Rufus busying themselves with ... paintings?! I'm dumbfounded. The remainders of a painting, that hang on the wall opposite the door, falls to the ground. My eyes catch muddy smudges to the right side of the room, starting at the right wall and leading towards the door - and out, I just notice. Then I look back at the three (well, four, including the Holy Guardian). They almost suffocated in here and they ... Is everyone going insane? Suddenly there is a grotesque picture in my head. I see a skeleton, looks human, slumped in a corner by the door. scraps of flesh are still visible on the bones. Various other bones can be seen scattered around the room. A slab of wall turns red opposite the doorway. What is going on here?! I turn around looking for ... I don't know. Did anyone else see that? It doesn't seem like it. Was that real? Was that ... Roosevelt? Don't be silly Tanea. He was still here just moments ago. And now he's gone - like the rats. Where are they now? Again, the lingering coldness deep in my bones stirs. I see the Ice Elemental stand infront of what once was the warded door on the right side of the tunnel. I see Silent floating nearer. He summoned two ghastly looking creatures into the middle of us and ordered one of them to attack BenKii, who was luckily able to avoid it. The good news is, the Hag killed both of them on sight. That means, they won't attack any of us anymore. Of course that is not going to stop Silent from calling more. And it will not bring Roosevelt back. I shudder as I turn back towards the left room.

Tanea, Halfling Shaman (female)
--------------------
58 - FlockeSchnee - Tanea - Halfling Shaman
The Ice Elemental makes to move towards the main chamber to look if the rats are (still) there, but he will proably disappear before he can actually move. EDIT: If he actually can do that before he vanishes, he will send Tanea another picture of what he sees. And of course he will know to avoid that acid trap, because Tanea thought about it when thinking about the rats and the way down to the main chamber.
Tanea looks closely at the muddy prints. Can she make out what creature left them?
EDIT2: Tanea looks a the painting/s she can see, does the scenery look familiar? (Since Web/Roy is holding the painting from the right wall, she will probably not be able to see it.)
Then Tanea turns to Web and asks incredulous "Why are you carrying that around?" And to everyone in the room: "What is it with you and these paintings? Are you even aware you were about to suffocate in here?!"

--------------------
No changes from starting equipment (Staff, 2x Heal potion).
5 spells cast (of 12): 1x Calm Animals (on Turn 2, already expired), 1x Heal (on Siegfried),
2x Protection from Elements (on Roy Jenks - Turn 8; on Siegfried - Turn 9),
1x Summon Ice Elemental on Turn 5 (ends end of Turn 9/beginning of Turn 10)

(Edit3: spelling *sigh*)

I, Strigon, Drow Necromancer, have cast the Death armour spell twice so far.

So what is the new group consensus ? Explore the two rooms and the paintings or go further into the tunnel ?

(Well, so far, BenKii and Siegfried seem to want to check the right room to maybe get Roosevelt back. Roy is inspecting the painting he snatched and Tanea wants to know from Web/Roy, Peloquin and Rufus why these paintings are worth dying. So they are not gonna move anywhere next turn, I guess, and the others will state what they will do later.)

(Yes, I'm sad about it too. It seemed like a cool plot thread and was interested to see where Doc would take it. Perhaps he'll reintroduce the dragon later in the game.)
Fish the Half-Orc Berserker

I will also try to search for anything useful in the room. I vote for going deeper inside the right room. That hag's head will make a fine trophy.

Inventory:

Chain armor
2x healing potions
Great axe
40 - Gilius, dwarven druid

Same here, I wanted to extinguish the fire and talk / negotiate with the dragon. Too bad. If somehow we happen to meet again, some / all of us should keep a very low profile !

Once BenKii has thrown his bone on the slab, I say : "Here, let me disarm it my own way ! Stand back." Then I send my new stone elemental running as fast as possible and trying to crash into the slab to see what happens.

If nothing particular happens, I call Peloquin and ask him if he can look for traps near it. Meanwhile I search the room for anything interesting apart from the slab.
"Is anybody hurt ?"

And what about Shins ??

I have cast 7 spells / 10 so far. And I still got 1 healing potion left on me. Stoney has been cast on turn 9.
I still have my leather armor and cudgel.

67 - Rufus - Human Cleric

While keeping an eye on the paintings, Rufus looks at the content of the left room. Is there anything on the wall that was behind the now burned painting? Anything useful to take in the room: some torches for the group? a relic? some treasure?
He grabs his findings if there isn't any risk or trap, and leaves the room.

Rufus asks: "What should we do with the two other painting? Should we take them both with us?"

As a last request (if he doesn't vanish on the current turn), Rufus asks his Guardian to go forward in the tunnel with his torch in order to clear and enlight the way.

Equipment =
- Steel Shield, with a Returning Silver Light-Hammer
- Fashionable Holey Armor
- Holy Amulet
- Net
- Torch
- 1 x healing potion (+ 1x used)

Used spells =
- Fire Weapon, casted on Turn 2, not active
- Divine Retaliation, casted on turn 6 (how many turns that spell stays active: 1, 5?)
- Globe of Protection, casted on turn 6
- Summon of Holy Guardian, casted on Turn 2, defeated by two Nightmares
- Summon of Holy Guardian, casted on Turn 5

Loradan:
- equipment: elven light robe, root wand of Magic Missile, small spellbook tied to the belt, his magic ring, 2 healing potions, 1 cure poison potion
- spells cast: 8 at turn 9
- active spells: two protection spells from turn 6, levitate from turn 9

--

The tunnel seemed safe for the moment, so Loradan returned to the doors.
He asked both groups if they had found anything useful, then he added:

"We should formulate an attack plan against that witch."

"She has surely already recast her magical barrier, so you must not engage her until I'll dispel it."
"Also, she'll probably focus on me now, so any help would be greatly appreciated."

"If you have magic protections of any kind, you'll have to prepare it before the battle. Her spells are powerful and fatal."
"And as you witnessed, she has a supernatural strength too."

"Most importantly, are you orcs and drows willing to fight the Hag with us?"
"It would be ideal to attack her on two fronts."
