Tss, what the interest to waste time to detect traps if people start opening everything like if the were in a mill...

Ok, so 8 skeletons and 4 zombies from the the first right door et 3 wights from the trapdoor.

W_T_W = 3 W
D___D = 8 S & 4 Z

SmartyFartBlart is assisting Cervello, while keeping a safe distance from him.

I'm with Svartalf, Thulgrun and Kyp close to the right door past the trapdoor. We will fight skeletons and zombies. The main question is : where is exactly Babargh and his Guardian ?

...
Not sure about this. The Wights appeared closer to us and to get to the skeletons and zombies, you would have to go past them, surely drawing their attention. Since we are behind the Wights, I'd suggest we focus on them first.

Only Kyp was right at the door, checking them. The rest of us stood closer to the middle of the tunnel, between the 2 doors past the trap-door (so pretty close to the Wights).

But of course, if you want to charge the skeletons, I won't stop you. Just a friendly suggestion.

bler144: triock can turn undead at his position, or call for aid if he wishes to save it, but I'm presuming he has 2x turn as I do.

I'll approach Cervello's position, shield raised, and move into range to cast (1x) Turn Undead, while remaining the 2' clear of Cervello himself.

While the monsters types aren't fearsome, 12 is a significant number and a Turn may help dispatch them quickly.

[edited to bold action]
It'd be also good to know how far it extends, since if it's a normal area like in games, one Turn should affect everyone. I don't have Turn Undead, I've got Resurrect.

*Grumbles in his beard* well, you're right !
So we will attack the wights in the back.
First, we have to use offensive spells against them, then throwing weapons. Wights must remain focus on Babargh's Guardian if we have to be engaged in a melee combat.

About my actions, I'm throwing axes to the Wights to behead them (I will pick them up later) after eventual spells from the others, then preparing for a melee with my Battleaxe and my shield. One step ahead, two steps behind to avoid to be outnumbered and escaping if things turn bad.

"BARUK KHAZÂD ! KHAZÂD AI-MÊNU !"

What about the formation ?

I guess Thulgrun as a Warrior at the front. After I throw my Fireball and you your axes, if any Wights survive, I can join you and Thulgrun at the front. After all, I'm a Battlemage. I have a War Hammer and a Mitrhil Chainmail so can hold my own in a close quarters fight.

I think Kyp should try to shoot them from where he is standing (next to the second right door) with his bow. He should have a good angle at them.

Wights are a powerful undead foe. If we are to engage them in melee, I suggest that we try to focus them down one at a time. If they survive the Fireball and axes, they should at least be pretty softened up by it.

We still need to know what Babargh is doing though. So we know who is under the effect of his spell and what is the Guardian doing. If he is with us, then we should all be protected by his Globe of Protection (Svartalf, Thulgrun, Max son of Fulvus and Babargh) while Kyp peppers the Wights with arrows from hopefully a safe place.

EDIT:
Kyp is helping with the larger group of the lesser undead focusing mostly on zombies as he is luckily well aware that arrows are not much good against skeletons.

Carefully aims at the door with bow and shoots at a zombie(to make sure i do not hit my team mates).
Kyp: Ha The zombies will be no match for my arrows it will rip them apart. The skellys might be a different story seeing how my arrows might slip though them.

Doc0075: three wights climb out, hungry for the living
· If any of these is still alive, uhm, let's say any of these is still moving ;), I bravely shout "haha! leave the corpse to me!" and attack them with my mithril warhammer blessed by an Elven princess I've rescued from a Lich (+3 damage vs undead).
· In case 3 wights do not pose a threat anymore, I look around and follow my warrior's instincts in order to face those creatures that currently pose the greatest threat to the company.
Out of player, Rip 2 people died already 1 was a dwarf he shall be remembered
My battleaxe is eager to rip those zombies apart, I attack them!

Sulibor: I am with you, we could open the door. Depending on the ork numbers I could use wand or one of the offensive spells.
For the speed of the game, it might be worth picking some likely numbers, and already "taking" the action. If Doc first reveals how many orcs there are, and you then take an action, we're 24 hours further on before you do some damage, versus if you just say "if I see X, I do Y, otherwise Z".

avatar
jonridan: I hide in the shadows to sneak attack orcs at the first opportunity and ready both of my fire damage short swords.
Are you coming in with us? (I'm kinda assuming so, but might be helpful to Doc if you make that more explicit. Waiting outside, I don't think you'll have a lot of chance to sneak attack anyone, since Beldarion is rushing in and I'm following him.) :)

"Yes, I'm going in, just hidden in shadows to surprise attack the first one".

Green_Hilltop: Svartalf, Thulgrun, Babargh and others, can you please confirm where you're standing if you didn't press on ahead, so we can get ready for the inevitable fight?
avatar
idbeholdME: From our party, I'd say that at least I (Svartalf), Thulgrun and Kyp are past the trapdoor. Kyp was checking the door on the right while us 2 agreed to move past the trapdoor.

These are good observations - i had been pretty ambiguous about where I was based on confusion about the room layout itself and what others were weren't doing.

To clarify, if Doc has me back beyond the wights, I don't want to rush past them in a way that leaves me overly exposed, and depending on the spell range, I may not need to.

Once Turn is cast I can help with whatever is priority, though I suspect that would be treated as a subsequent turn. Silver hammer would be most effective on wights/skels from an offensive POV, but I am immune to disease, so if zombies need tanked I can do that too.

I'll be offline for 7-8 hours, so feel free to direct me as others' actions start to coalesce.

No one has died in the south...at least yet. Two of the other directions have.

Also, for anyone not looking at the main thread, RWarehall provoked the creature behind the grate (20' sword-centipede) and it crashed on through. It hasn't yet picked a direction, so...pray it goes north. ;)

If it comes south we may have to hope the Turn Undead diverts our current targets, push through the door that is open and let them fight each other.

But at least for this term your action / focus should be on responding to either the wights coming out of the trapdoor or the zombies/wights.

Edit - also, when checking to see which group you were in, I noticed that for some reason Doc's OP in this thread has been 'low rated.' I know, I know, rep doesn't mean anything, but go ahead and upvote, please.
