Considering there is no other path, I follow the group to hunt down the drow.
Og'rialt attempts to preserve cohesion in the group going up the stairs. If everyone from the side tunnel group (including Aslain) arrives first, we go up together as a group. If other people arrive first and explicitly want to join in formation, Og'rialt welcomes them and points Beldarion at specific passages in his book in the hope of preventing too much face-punching. If other people just blindly barge ahead without wanting to play nice together, Og'rialt lets them pass in the hope that they'll trigger many traps (and none of those traps involve giant rocks rolling down the stairs).

"Og'rialt and his merry tavern wisdom..." -thinks Beldarion and sighs.

"Excuse the punching. Standard crowd control procedure!"
Beldarion shouts out loud, so that everybody can hear him: "YOUR ENTHUSIASM FOR HUNTING DOWN THAT DROW IS ADMIRABLE! IF ONLY SOME OF OUR PARTY MEMBERS SHARED IT..."-gives a significant glance around- "BUT THERE ARE ALREADY ENOUGH PEOPLE IN OUR TEAM, THE PASSAGEWAY AHEAD IS NARROW, AND I DON'T WANT IT TO TURN INTO A DEADLY BOTTLENECK. PLEASE REMAIN IN THIS ROOM!" -The warrior readies his sword.

(OOC translation: we are the scouting party. Follow us at a distance)
OOC: Sorry, was out of town for a few days. Also, welcome back Doc!! And I don't know how to put things in bold...
Back on track:

Aslain is in formation with his initial group looking for traps and any suspicious movements and using his trusty torch to light the way.

jonridan: And I don't know how to put things in bold...
Just highlight the part of text you want to make bold like if you were going to copy it and then press the B square on the left under "My message:".

Alternatively, you can just manually put before the thing you want to make bold and after the thing you want to make bold.

If you click reply to my post, you will see how it is used in the sentence above.

idbeholdME: Also kind of not sure about the available paths to take from here. It seems like there is only 1? Or is there more?
There is only one way out of the room, and that's the door at the back of the room with the winding staircase Cicatrix went up through, so we can go through it after we finish up in this room (which should be after this turn).

Can someone stand by Thras while I revive him, in case Taz gets any ideas? We can head up up the staircase right after that.

I first go and check Kyp, and seeing he can't be resurrected, and greet him in my mind. Then I take the health potions I remember he had (it should be five, right?). "Does anyone want a health potion, so that I don't carry them all in case they break and everyone has an access to one during combat?"

I cast Resurrect on Thras after that. I ask Taz who he is and why is he there, and if there is a way for him to get back into the goblet or materialize into his own body.

"Right, now that's done (unless something happens), who wants to head together upstairs? I can take point again, and depending on the width of the staircase, maybe someone can walk next to me who is good at spotting traps."

avatar
idbeholdME: If there is indeed only one path forward, then I guess there is no other option but to join the group going up the stairs.

So if they would have me (strength in numbers and all), then I fall into the formation where they point me. If not, then I will just walk up the stairs some distance behind them. Stealing from a dwarf should never go unpunished.
Since the party ahead seems partially hostile, let's resurrect Thras and resume our formation and head together ahead, following slightly behind them - I can take point again, and if the staircase is wide enough, someone can walk side by side with me.
avatar
MaxFulvus: Considering there is no other path, I follow the group to hunt down the drow.
Since Beldarion seems averse to teaming up, let's go together again after them. Do you want a health potion by the way, if you don't have any? The offer stands for anyone on our team and people who want to join. (I should have five for offer
avatar
zlaywal: Uh, yea I'm kinda lost in text and translations so any idea of paths available from this area?

41 - Zayd ibn Yassin - Human Ranger

Zayd scour the area for any stuff available. From Orc and scorpion's leftover to the cauldron. He'll decide his path after he have any idea where to go. He still itching to send his arrows to the stocky hag if opportunity come later.
Just the staircase Cicatrix took. If you want to, you can come wiith us? (I'm guessing Svartalf, Smarty, Max, Babark and potentially Roosevelt will go up there right away, a bit behind Ogrialt's team, since Beldarion wants to attack anyone about to join them, and I want to Resurrect Thras first anyway).
avatar
triock: "This might come in handy!", says Triock Ulagolor, Elven Paladin, upon taking the ring from the hand of the dead old hag. He then turns to Eranear: "Sorry, brother, I will keep it for now, but as I said, I won't forget your kindness, I will repay it one day, sooner or later." Making sure the ring is not cursed (asking for a help with any mage available), he puts it on his right hand. Afterwards he falls on one knee and rests his arms on his flamesword Riarwirn to pray a short prayer. Few minutes later, he stands up, raising his sword above his head, turns to group of companions around him and shouts: I, Triock, Ulagolor, son of Jandar Zylkalyn, swear to my Gods, that I will kill any Drow on sight. Woe to those who dare to oppose me or they will face my wrath!" He steps to Og'rialt and says in a calm voice: "I will join you on your Drow hunt, if you have no objections" and proceeds with the group upstairs.
"I understand. Feel free to join us, you don't have to go up ahead alone. I'm going to Resurrect Thras and then head upstairs with our group, since Beldarion has stated he will attack everyone who wants to join them, unless Og'railt oor someone else will dissuade him."

RedFireGaming: Welcome back, Doc.

I looked at my spell list and realize that I left out resurrect when I updated on turn 10. I could use infestation of maggots on each of the witches bodies, which might be safer than lobbing another fireball.

"It's a classic cleanup spell my clan uses when we need to get rid of a body fast" says Roark. "Just say the word and they're as good as gone."
"Hah! I was counting on that, but oh well. I have on left, so I'll Resurrect Thras."
avatar
Green_Hilltop:
Sure, I join you ;) Thanks for the offer, but I have my own heath potion.

paladin181: *Roosevelt dusts his hands off and surveys the room*

"So now where do we go? What were you kind folk doing before you rescued me, and what is our objective? if you'll have me in your group, that is."
"You're welcome to join! I'm going to Resurrect Thras first, and if everyone waits for that, then we can all go up through that door afterwards (I point to the staircase). I'm Ereanar, also a paladin. Nice to meet you."

alexandros050:
You can join us if you'd like?

MaxFulvus: Sure, I join you ;) Thanks for the offer, but I have my own heath potion.
Alright! :) Making sure I don't hoard them all - which reminds me, I have an electric wand I found on the witch, but since I'll probably be most likely using my own weapons, Svartalf, would you like to take a look at it and potentially use it in combat? Or anyone else who's good with wands?

It's good to see you back Doc! :)

41 - Zayd ibn Yassin - Human Ranger

After finished scavenging and salvage whatever that's available, Zayd indicates that he will be the last one entering the staircase, protecting the rear end of Eranear party.
avatar
Green_Hilltop:
Sounds good. Let's keep our party together then.

I'll take a healing potion from Eranear that he offered. I currently have only 2x Cure Disease Potions on me. Then I put the shield on my back and proceed to inspect the wand he passed me. Would be good to have some magical weapon and not just a hammer. Not sure how I feel about resurrecting Thras though. Taz is obviously dangerous and I'm not sure he can be reasoned with. Still, now that we have a moment of peace, we should be able to deal with him properly.

BenKii: Current Situation:

In the Hag's Lair:
No threats remain. All bodies have been looted. One person (Thras) can be revived. He lies dead with the possessed Taz still attached. Roark's Werewolf Bloodlust has been cured. He is still prone to returning to his bloodlust if he gets into another battle. There are 3 doors in this room, 1 returns you to the side tunnel, 1 leads back to the main tunnel, the last door appears to be the only way of proceeding further.

In the large archway:
Cicatrix in the only one here. An apparent danger is sensed further down the hallway. There is the shadow of something slowly bobbing up and down just ahead of a colorful object.

Current Actions Summary

70 - Lifthrasil - Thras - Dwarven Mage -- DEAD, TAZ ATTACHED
(Waiting to be revived.)

59 - Lemmus - Cicatrix - Drow Ranger
Cicatrix blows her whistle to summon her Dire Wolf companion. It seems her luck has finally run out. Still, there's a chance she may be able to avoid trouble, especially as her sense are probably better in the dark room than anyone who might follow her.
Since the room is the only path forwards, Cicatrix moves into the dark, but instead of walking towards the light she hugs the left hand wall following it around. Hopefully she can get a better look at either the colourful object or whatever is casting the shadow from the side, but as always her main goal is finding a path out.
She'll leave the obvious traps to the "adventurers" who so love them.

29 - gogtrial34987 - Og'rialt - Dwarf Brigand -- ( Magic Shield )
1.Taking note of the finger pointing to where Dunward is already busy examining something, Og'rialt calls out to Kip, Beldarion and Aslain to head that way. He once more calls out to the other adventurers to see if anyone else wants to join the chase for Cicatrix.
With the lightning experience fresh in his mind, Og'rialt's priority is to be out of the room before Taz is revived, so he hurriedly joins Dunward at the back of the room. After stepping through the door, he asks Dunward to examine the necklace and pouch with eyeballs to get a better idea of their magical properties.
I propose we take up our familiar formation and swiftly head up the staircase which Dunward has found, with Aslain scanning for traps as always. If more people join us for heading up this turn, we swiftly give them instructions on the basics of effectively fighting as a team, and slot them into the formation in such a way that as many ranged attacks as possible have a clear field of view.
2.Og'rialt also keeps a wary eye out for traps while heading up the stairs

2 - bler144 - SmartyFartBlart - Human Paladin -- ( Reflect Spells, Protective Bubble )
Note: I'm going to be intermittently off-line over the next 8-10 days.
Tentative Action:
Priorities are to determine if anyone is in desperate need of healing, assess what is to be done with the 2-headed boy-mage, and otherwise be prepared to intervene/support if the disembodied finger reveals some new threat.

22 - 01kipper - Kip - Halfling Brigand
Kip joins Dunward & Og'rialt, and heads up the stairs together with them.

15 - Lone_Scout - Says Beldarion - Human Warrior -- ( Magic Shield )
Beldarion happily joins Og'rialt and the rest of the party into the formation. He'll be ready to attack anything or anyone who comes from upstairs. If someone else wants to join his party, Beldarion will punch them in the face and politely order them to go back to the main room.
Meanwhile, Beldarion hands his book to Dunward and asks him to identify it.

5 - Sulibor - Dunward - Human Mage -- ( Magic Shield )
Active spells:
-Magic Shield (cast during turn 12)
-Summon Monster: Ogre (cast during turn 13)
Dunward carefully examines items passed to him by fellow adventurers in order to identify magic properties and discover potential curses those items could have:
- Bone necklace and pouch with eyeballs from Og'rialt
- Book from Says Beldarion (identified, it is not cursed)
- Healing ring from Eranear (identified, it is not cursed)
Once items are examined, Dunward returns them informing about his findings.
If no other items are passed to him, Dunward enters the staircase behind Aslain, Og'rialt and Says Beldarion holding his wand of silver darts and looking for traps.
If summoned Ogre can fit the passage, he is ordered to follow the party at end. If he is to large he is ordered to stay near the entrance to the staircase.

9 - MaxFulvus - Max, son of Fulvus - Dwarven Thief
First of all, I'm drinking a health potion to restore my life. Then, I pick up my throwing axes. Considering that everything has already been looted, I need to discuss with those still in the main room to decide which path we should follow !

48 - babark - Babargh - Dwarven Cleric -- ( Globe of Protection )
I cast Holy Water on the Thief of Fulvus, hopefully it will also dissipate any residual poison in the air.
I also express my approval of the plan to chase down the drow.

28 - triock - Triock Ulagolor - Elven Paladin
"This might come in handy!", says Triock Ulagolor, Elven Paladin, upon taking the ring from the hand of the dead old hag. He then turns to Eranear: "Sorry, brother, I will keep it for now, but as I said, I won't forget your kindness, I will repay it one day, sooner or later." Dear Interdimentional Scribe,
please review your notes as I, Dunward The Human Mage, added to my actions below:
"I see that no one sees the potential danger of leaving 2 hag corpses here when the third one is on the loose potentially able to reanimate her sisters in sin. If no other character is willing to burn them using conventional means and there is no one near them that could be harmed, I will cast Fireball so that both corpses are ignited."
Yours Truly
Dunward The Human Mage
