Sulibor:
The next turn happens tomorrow!

After we're through and I scan the room for any potential threats or dangers I should take care of first, I start looting whatever seems fine, priority is on books and magical tomes, and things that might pertain to the mystery of this dungeon and why was the Beholder here, then magical and holy items and lastly treasure. While doing so I keep an eye out on Og'rialt, and should he start doing something that might put him in danger (like opening a chest that might explode), I make sure to have distance between us so I can go and heal him if he needs it. Then when we're done, we run back to the portal, and if there's still Roosevelt remaning by the portal and Dunward didn't take him, I haul him with us. If there is a chest that is very large and light enough for me to carry it, I take it with me to be opened by someone on the other side, rather than risk getting hurt by a trap, throwing Roosevelt through the portal first and then following with the chest and other items I might have collected. If Og'rialt is incapacitated or dies, and I can't wake him up with my Heal spell or potion so he can walk out of the dungeon on his own, I haul his body through the portal as well, quickly stuffing treasure into his pockets we can divide later.

Current Situation:

!!1 TURN LEFT TO ESCAPE!!

In the large archway:
Triock, SmartyFartBlart, Aslain, Zayd, and Max walk through the portal and have escaped. Thras walks through the portal and Taz separates from Thras. Taz looks at Thras, sniffs the air, then lets out a maniacal laugh before running off into the woods. Thras (and Taz) have escaped. Dunward picks up Roosevelt's body and casts Detect Secrets. Eranear picks up Rudy's body and sees the results of Detect Secrets. In the right of the room, a door shape is glowing red. Three separate bricks above the door also glow red. Og'rialt tosses 3 of the Hag's eyeballs (eww) into the air looking for secrets. One hovers above a spot by the Beholders corpse. The second speeds off down the hall to hover in the middle, near the entrance. The third shoots off down the right side of the room to hover near Eranear, by the top left highlighted brick. Og'rialt moves to Eranear and the third eyeball's location. Og'rialt's finger bone necklace points to the door shape in front of him.

Current Actions Summary

69 - alexandros050 - Rudy - Human Ranger -- DEAD
(Felled by "Death Ray". Body intact. Can possibly be revived.)

13 - paladin181 - Roosevelt - Human Paladin -- DEAD -- ( Protection Against Evil, Reflect Spells )
(Died from his injuries. Can Possibly be revived.)

29 - gogtrial34987 - Og'rialt - Dwarf Brigand -- ( Magic Shield )
1.Intuiting that some or all of the bricks need to be pressed in order to get the door to open and treasure to be revealed, Og'rialt takes stock for a moment in which his paranoia is running rampant. "What if this is some puzzle that I missed the hint to? What if this eyeball is also pointing at a trap? What if..." Yet time is running out. If Dunward hadn't cast his detect secrets spell, his only hints would've been the eyeball hovering and the finger bone pointing. A powerful hag enchanted both to be helpful to her. Time to trust that she knew her business.
Ready to dodge out of the way if he has come to the wrong conclusion and triggers a trap ("it's not a trap if you know it's a trap!") and trusting in his magic shield to deflect poison darts and the like, Og'rialt stands back a bit to take a firm grip on his mithril axe, and uses it to firmly push the top left brick. If the outline of the door doesn't open, then after a short wait he will hesitantly press the middle brick as well, and finally the right/bottom one.
Assuming the space behind the door is filled with treasure, Og'rialt swiftly puts the eyeball back in its pouch, grabs as much of the most valuable treasure as possible (pointing out additional valuable pieces to Eranear, if applicable), with a particular eye toward useful magic items for the world outside. After doing so, he is once again gripped by the inexorable dread which gripped him in the central chamber, and remembers the visceral need to get out of here. Og'rialt rushes to the portal as swiftly as his dwarven legs can carry him, shooing Dunward and Svartalf to get out when he nears them, and then diving through himself. (If there is a portal behind the door as well, Og'rialt shouts to Dunward to get out and meet up later, and then dives through that portal instead.)
If any traps are triggered which hamper Eranear (or himself in such a way that he's still capable of action), Og'rialt makes him drink one of his healing potions (or quaffs it himself). If Eranear is completely incapitated, and Og'rialt feels that he has the strength to carry him, he does so.
If Og'rialt somehow misses out on escaping by portal, he points his silver mirror at a blank wall, and if that doesn't work, he consults his guide.
2.I stand aside for the rock throwing as Eranear proposes. I enter first as I'm the one with better protections. I however don't wait around with guarding each other while looting, but just grab what I can as previously specified and hightail it for the portal.

43 - idbeholdME - Svartalf - Dwarven Battlemage -- ( Protection Against Evil, Reflect Spells)
I shout in the direction of Eranear and Og'rialt:
"Move it people! From what I can tell, this portal isn't going to last much longer. Even if you find something, being encumbered by it as you are making a run for a closing portal is less than ideal. Don't let greed make you lose the most valuable thing you have; your own lives."
Hoping that my words make them realize the urgency of the current situation, I grab Rudy's body and drag it through the portal with me, hopefully joining the others who have already made it through.

80 - Green_Hilltop - Eranear - Elf Paladin -- ( Protection Against Evil, Reflect Spells, Bless )
1. "Move back!" I shout, and wait for O'grialt to stand a safe distance away from the door, as I have done. Then I take out a rock I've taken in the very first turn and throw it and the left top brick with my right hand, the left having the shield ready. If something happens and someone gets injured, I give a health potion to the one who needs it or cast a Heal, whichever is faster and takes less time, so we can hurry to get out before the turn ends.
If nothing happens and the door isn't activated, then I throw another one at the middle one, and then at the right one, if nothing happens again. If the door is already opened after the first brick, I ask Og'rialt if he wants to go first due to his Shield, or if I should go, and then we go in. I take any items of interest (if they're in a chest which I can pick up, I suggest I carry it through the portal where hopefully Max and Aslain are still waiting and can safely open it), sharing them fairly and equally with Og'rialt. And then we head back to the portal, where I pick up Rudy and step through. Once safely there, I get my spells back and resurrect both Rudy and Roosevelt, if we've made it there in time.
2. After we're through and I scan the room for any potential threats or dangers I should take care of first, I start looting whatever seems fine, priority is on books and magical tomes, and things that might pertain to the mystery of this dungeon and why was the Beholder here, then magical and holy items and lastly treasure. Haven't taken turn yet:
48 - babark - Babargh - Dwarven Cleric -- ( Globe of Protection )
72 - park_84 - Darrim - Dwarf Warrior
78 - CervelloYM - Cervello - Drow Battlemage
5 - Sulibor - Dunward - Human Mage -- ( Levitate, Magic Shield )

That is a lot of actions you two are taking within one turn. I have a feeling that some dice rolls will take place to determine whether you make it out in time or not :/
If Dunward is still standing or levitating at the portal when I reach there, undoubtedly lost in thought, thinking important magely things, I bodily drag him along as I dive through that portal.

I'm a brigand. I'm very good at looting things swiftly and efficiently. And really, there's a lot of conditionals, but few actual actions.

(Or another way to look at things: Everyone who took an action on the final turn got out alive with plenty of time to spare. Got to provide some excitement to the masses by making at least one escape follow the finest bardic tradition.) ^_^

** FINAL TURN **

Southern tunnel:

43 - Svartalf - Dwarven Battlemage as the light of the portal starts to dim, you call out to Eranear and Og'rialt to hurry. You grab Rudy's body and drag him through the portal and to safety.
You have escaped.

80 - Eranear - Elf Paladin you tell Og'rialt to move back. You take a rock from your pocket and throw it at the top left brick *rolls dice* there is a little movement but nothing happens.
You pick up the rock from the floor and throw it at the middle brick. *rolls dice* It hits with a solid thump and the brick moves in *rolls dice* a poisoned dart shoots out from the wall *rolls dice* narrowly missing your head.

5 - Dunward - Human Mage feeling that time is running out and that you are responsible for getting Roosevelts body to safety, you enter the portal.
You have escaped.

29 - Og'rialt - Dwarf Brigand you move back to the bricks and push the top left one with your axe. There is a click and a door in the brickwork swings inward. The pair of you look in, awestruck. In front of you is a large circular room, around the edges of the room are mannequins suited in the finest of armours and holding exquisite weapons.
The centre of the room sees six huge treasure laden chests with several smaller ones on top.
With Svartalf's warning ringing in your ears about running out of time you grab two of the small chests, having a quick look inside (one of them has gems and gold but the other has rings and pendants and your eyes light up at the prospect of them being magic), and turn to leave the room.

80 - Eranear - Elf Paladin looking at the armour you curse at not having found this room earlier. Having no time to lose you also grab two small chests then something catches your eye just to the left of the door. A small bookshelf is there with two tomes on it. Excitedly you give the books a quick glance over, one is a thick black leather grimoire with a grinning skull on the cover. The other is a plain leather book with the title "Dimensional Portals And Talking Skulls".
You grab both books and turn for the door.

There is a rumbling from the back of the room and a deep gravelly voice booms out "Those are not for one such as yourself!"
A Stone Golem emerges from behind the mannequins.
*rolls dice* It throws a large metal hammer at your backs *rolls dice* Eranear turns and raises his shield *rolls dice* your arm goes numb from the impact but you turn the hammer to one side.

Og'rialt and Eranear run as fast as they can for the portal, heavy footsteps behind them. The portals light is a lot dimmer than you remember. *rolls dice* You both hurry through with the portal closing just seconds later.
Once you catch your breath, and after a stern lecture from Svartalf about nearly getting trapped, Eranear prays to his God and feels mystic energy surge through his body. He then proceeds to resurrect Rudy and Roosevelt.

69 - Rudy - Human Ranger has been resurrected.

13 - Roosevelt - Human Paladin has been resurrected.

29 - Og'rialt - Dwarf Brigand has escaped.

80 - Eranear - Elf Paladin has escaped.

Now there is one group who have worked as a team from the very first moment they left the central chamber into a tunnel. I have intended to reward them with an achievement for some time now, so here goes.

5 - Dunward - Human Mage has earned the achievement *The A Team*
15 - Says Beldarion - Human Warrior has earned the achievement *The A Team*
22 - Kip - Halfling Brigand has earned the achievement *The A Team*
29 - Og'rialt - Dwarf Brigand has earned the achievement *The A Team*
35 - Aslain Melemir - Elven Thief has earned the achievement *The A Team*
high rated
This message will be copy pasted to each tunnel.

I am going to work out who has won what reward and then contact each person in chat. Those that did not escape or did not die trying, even if that death was voluntary due to not being able to carry on in the game, will not be eligible for a reward unless they received an achievement. Sorry if this seems harsh.

Rewards are to be spent in the current Winter Sale.

If you received an achievement and it hasn't been added to post three in the original Enter my dungeon if you dare... Giveaway/Game thread, please let me know as soon as possible.

Thank you for your participation, the game is just an idea without you guys (and gals).
Woo hoo to all of that!

Massive kudos to my party; well deserved for that final achievement. I've been extremely glad to have all of you as my companions, and with our teamwork, it really doesn't surprise me that we all got out alive. I think Dunward even did it without taking any damage or negative effects at all! (Right?)

Epilogue for Og'rialt coming up in a bit, but first, massive thanks to Doc for running this! Staying up late figuring out my next actions cut into a lot of my game playing time, and I enjoyed every minute of it. :)

I'd love to hear more background about your roleplaying, if there was any hidden knowledge that made you steal the mirror, etc.

Doc0075:
Once you've taken a well deserved breather, and after all the administratrivia of handing out rewards is well behind you, I'd love it if you could share your thoughts about your biggest surprises in the way the game unfolded, expected paths not taken, cool secrets we never uncovered, etc - and I suspect I'm not the only one who'll be interested in such.

((Holy shit and thanks for this great game. It was impromptu and indeed a strain on you, and I for one, definitely appreciate all your effort in making it happen. Thanks again for the last few months, as I was about to leave the forum when this started and your game gave me a reason to check daily. This has been great, man. Really fun game))
*Roosevelt walks quietly, effortlessly. If he had a face here it would have a peaceful expression as he "walks" along in what he could only describe as a cloud. His mind is clear.*

"WELCOME HOME, ROOSEVELT. YOU AVAILED YOURSELF WELL. YOUR FRIENDS WILL ESCAPE THE TUNNEL BECAUSE OF YOUR BOLD ACTIONS. YOUR BROTHER WILL BE RESTORED. YOU HAVE REACHED THE END OF YOUR WORLDLY JOURNEY, IT SEEMS. YOUR NEW ACQUAINTANCES SEEK TO REVIVE YOU, BUT IT WILL NOT WORK. YOU HAVE EARNED YOUR PEACEFUL RESPITE HERE WITH ME."

*Roosevelt affects a smile, and takes a moment to absorb what has been said to him*

"You always answered my prayers and gave me might to conquer the enemies of order and good. It wasn't always about fighting, but convincing others to follow the right path. Who will help my sheep now? I have a barony to guide. Who will be their sheriff now that I am gone?"

*The voice answers him, permeating his being with the knowledge of the words rather than actually speaking them.*

"THEY WILL FIND THEIR OWN WAY, TO OTHER SHEPHERDS OR TO OTHER PATHS. YOU HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN THE PATH OF OTHERS UPON YOURSELF, AND IN DOING SO, YOU HAVE CAUSED THEM TO BECOME WEAK AND DEPENDENT UPON YOU. YOUR WORK HAS BEEN GOOD, THOUGH AND YOU HAVE TAUGHT OTHERS TO DO RIGHT. YOU HAVE PROTECTED THOSE WHO CAN'T DEFEND THEMSELVES AND PUNISHED THOSE WHO WOULD NOT CHANGE TO A RIGHTEOUS PATH. BUT ALAS, YOUR TIME IS DONE. I HAVE ORDERED THIS."

*Roosevelt feels the pulling of the magical forces attempting to drag him back, and smiles.*

"You know, I don't think I'm done just yet. It may be a sin to defy the gods, but I have too much left to do in my mortal world. I appreciate your offer, but I must decline."

*With an acrobatic... something he evades the force trying to compel him to stay and instead latches on to the force pulling him to his body. With a defiant exclamation, he enters his body with a tangible impact. However, his body is too weak to sustain consciousness and he falls into a deep slumber. Roosevelt will live, and be fine, but for now, he needs his rest. Once he awakens, who can say where his path will take him? But you can be sure where ever it is, he will be in the forefront taking action so that others may thrive.*

Thanks again for this incredibly fun game.

The following never made it out of the dungeon:

48 - babark - Babargh - Dwarven Cleric
72 - park_84 - Darrim - Dwarf Warrior
78 - CervelloYM - Cervello - Drow Battlemage

GAME OVER
Thank you very much Doc (and everyone participating in this game), I haven't had so much fun in a looooooong time (despite constant struggle with my writing English skills :D). I hope that one day I can once more use my hero in a new adventure.

Epilogue: After the last one of adventurers stepped from the portal, Triock Ulagolor, Elven Paladin, looks at them all and smiles."Thanks Gods they are all safe", he thinks for himself. "It wasn't too bad, though I didn't achieve anything worthy mentioning to my father. But I'm still young, I have plenty of time to surpass him!" " 'Til we meet again, my friends!", he says to his companions as he starts walking towards west, hoping one day a new adventure will rise for him again.
