2 turns left to escape.
** TURN 18 **
Southern tunnel:
*rolls dice* for turn order.
59 - Cicatrix - Drow Ranger *rolls dice* uses her natural ability to levitate to glide towards the portal. *rolls dice* The Beholder does not notice her action. You enter the portal and exit into woods on the other side. There is a dark cave entrance visible to your right and you levitate into it hoping to find access to the Underdark. Your Dire Wolf will stand guard of you until the effects of the Beholders ray have worn off.
You have escaped.
15 - Says Beldarion - Human Warrior *rolls dice* Kip is mad with fear so you keep a firm hold and carry him on your left shoulder. You move, via the pillars, to intercept the Drow by the portal only to see her levitate through, her wolf guarding her back. *rolls dice* After a last look at the room you enter the portal and exit into bright woods. You see the Drow levitating her way into a cave to your right, her wolf guarding her. Having escaped the dungeon you see no need for further conflict.
You have escaped.
22 - Kip - Halfling Brigand *rolls dice* you are out of your mind with fear. Says Beldarion carries you on his shoulder through the portal into woods. He stays with you waiting for the fear ray to wear off.
You have escaped.
43 - Svartalf - Dwarven Battlemage casts Magic Shield upon Roosevelt.
13 - Roosevelt - Human Paladin shield up, you advance through the steam to attack the Beholder. *rolls dice* You trigger a trap *rolls dice* but the magic shield absorbs the damage and is no more. *rolls dice* You strike first *rolls dice* your flail crushing an eye stalk as it turns to zap you. *rolls dice* You raise your arm to strike again but are grabbed in the monsters mighty maw. *rolls dice* You feel rows of sharp teeth grinding through your armour into your flesh.
28 - Triock Ulagolor - Elven Paladin *rolls dice* cursing you see the Drow escape through the portal. Using your sword to light the arrows you take aim as best you can through the steam at the Beholder. *rolls dice* First arrow misses. *rolls dice* Second arrow strikes just above the Beholders maw narrowly missing the struggling Roosevelt. *rolls dice*
70 - Thras - Dwarven Mage *rolls dice* You move up the right side of the room while invisible. The Beholder is in combat in the centre of the room while you see several adventurers exit through the portal up ahead.
35 - Aslain Melemir - Elven Thief *rolls dice* in spite of the steam cloud you decide to open fire on the Beholder. *rolls dice* Both your arrows strike *rolls dice* one bounces off *rolls dice* one strikes the base of an eye stalk causing it to fall limp.
*rolls dice* An eye stalk shoots a ray in the direction that the arrows came from striking you before you can hide behind the pillar. *rolls dice* You hit the ground, fast asleep.
2 - SmartyFartBlart - Human Paladin with Taz nowhere to be seen you move along the left side of the room, stopping behind a pillar near the middle.
9 - Max, son of Fulvus - Dwarven Thief *rolls dice* under cover of the steam cloud and moving behind pillars, you check the portal to see if it is safe. Having seen Beldarion carry Kip through you assume that it is.
80 - Eranear - Elf Paladin *rolls dice* you move to assist Roosevelt *rolls dice* you trigger a trap as you advance *rolls dice* but your Bubble protects you from a four foot metal spike that shoots up out of the ground. *rolls dice* The spike does cause you to stumble as you advance *rolls dice* you are targeted by an eye stalk *rolls dice* which zaps you, your bubble absorbing the damage (your bubble is no more).
*rolls dice* You strike with your Hammer *rolls dice* cracking apart a large chunk of the creatures armour on its left side.
The Beholder continues to chew on Roosevelt.
*rolls dice* Roosevelt - Human Paladin seeing another eye stalk target Eranear, the same one that disintegrated Roark, swings his shield to ram into the eye with the last of his strength. *rolls dice* Roosevelt falls unconscious from loss of blood.
13 - Roosevelt - Human Paladin earns the achievement *Cometh The Moment, Cometh The Man*
41 - Zayd ibn Yasin - Human Ranger *rolls dice* seeing the armour fall apart under Eranear's attack you change target to that area. *rolls dice* Your arrows sink deep causing the Beholder to shudder. *rolls dice* The Beholder drops Roosevelts mangled body and starts to levitate both up and back towards the portal.
5 - Dunward - Human Mage behind a pillar you cast Levitate and Magic Shield on yourself. You levitate towards the portal using the steam cloud as cover. *rolls dice* You notice the Beholder is now levitating in the same direction.
43 - Svartalf - Dwarven Battlemage you advance behind the pillars towards the portal. *rolls dice* From a pillar in the middle-left of the room you target the levitating Beholder and cast Ice Lance. *rolls dice* You strike although not in the exact spot you were aiming for. *rolls dice* Still your Ice Lance pierces its armour and the Beholder starts to lose height.
29 - Og'rialt - Dwarf Brigand with a deep sigh to steady yourself, you step out of cover to face the Beholder at the back of the room. The Beholder is drifting in your direction and it looks pissed.
Having the creatures attention you hold the mirror up to face it and utter the words scrawled in your book.
Morte comes flying out and spins around to face you. "What took you so long chief?" His words are mumbled as he is holding a cloth bag in his teeth that is about the same size as he is. You hear snakes hissing.
*I hooked up with an old chit from my past, she's a real looker! She, er, might be too much for you and your companions eyes. Now would be a good time to look away." The last part was shouted for all to hear.
Without waiting to see if everyone did as he said, Morte races up to the Beholder "Hey you bug-eyed creep, I brought someone to see ya!"
Morte lets the bag drop from his mouth as the Beholder advances, Medusa's head landing on the ground to face it.
With a gargled roar of rage the Beholder is turned to stone before crashing to the floor with an almighty thud.
13 - Roosevelt - Human Paladin has died from his injuries.
Morte, having put Medusa's head back in the bag, flies above Roosevelt and says "Alas poor Roosevelt, I knew him... well, not at all actually."
