direspirefirewire: I was worried you were going to blow yourself up or get electrocuted and blow yourself up at the end. Thanks for scaring the Kraken off
Me too. I was afraid of blowing up a hole in our ship and take us all down into the icy waters! We got lucky.

bjgamer: Heave to there, ye licencious landlubber or ye'll find yerself scuppered! Arghh! In truth, I don't even drink rum, and Admiral Polly certainly isn't going to tolerate any wenchin' on me person! (Especially by someone who's sneaking around in her 'laundry' and her cabin!!) :p For your first game you did a great job!
ROFL! ;) As a Thief, I guess I did do my fair share of sneaking around...

Pouyou-pouyou: Ahhh, what a disappointment ! I thought you and your wife were pulling all the strings. Oh well, that was very nice with Doc doing all of it himself anyway. I thought you were secretly mongering on some secret discord channel with Doc., debating on how you would torture and kill any of us !
Hmmm - well, you never know, there may be a next time! ;) (If Doc ever recovers from this one!)

You did get lucky as I rolled the dice to see if the explosion would take out part of the ship or not. Sadly, the dice failed me. Yet again :(

Ah lol, I thought you helped us a bit with that Kraken.
Praise the dice gods then! :P
high rated
Now BJ and the pirate ship was meant to be a major fight but there just wasn't time if you were to escape. More people joined from the western tunnel than I thought would and it unbalanced things a little. The riddles are not really effective when everyone can just google the answers.

The Kraken, how the hell did that not kill anyone? I swear, my dice are cursed!
It attacked Rizzleskiff on her own and still couldn't kill her. Then, slapping massive tentacles about the ship and no-one gets splattered.

Regarding the secret tunnel in the Ilithids room, if you guys had gone through the left door as the Duergar wanted you too, and as it first looked like you were going to, that would have been the end of you. There was a whole city of Duergar on the other side including a garrison right by the door.
If you hadn't killed the Ilithid and had him with you, he would have betrayed you with a mind blast and you would have struggled against the Duergar in the tunnel.

I find this stuff very interesting! Catching a glimpse of what went on "behind the scenes", from your perspective. ;) Thx for sharing. Bet you have enough material and insight to write an entire book about it! :P

It seems like the guys in the side tunnel dodged the biggest bullets then O_o

phaolo: Btw, IMO it would need more GM helpers, some sort of map with positions, and.. no splitting of already-formed parties pls.
For so many people participating help would probably be needed. Kudos to Doc for managing with just BenKii as a helper.
I would have appreciated some kind of map. I'm bad with envisioning environements and positions and such. But I tried to play it save and otherwise asked Doc for clarification. If the game had been longer, I probably would have felt a stronger need for a map.
I liked the splitting. Otherwise things might fall into a boring routine. And noone knew those who would take the same path. That way one could change direction to somewhere else, if they wanted too. Well, except Roosevelt, who got abducted, but it kept us on ours toes (added a little spice).

I didn't mean voluntary splitting, that's obviously good.
In our case, we were supposed to rejoin, but the portal was basically one-way to another tunnel.
I would have preferred if such choice was less drastic or more clear.
Thank you for all the fun, Doc!
It was an amazing journey. I can only imagine how hard it was to manage 80 players :O
[68 - Peloquin - Dwarven Thief] [Northern Main Tunnel]

As I join the others on the wooded shore, the sight of my mate's faces sent a rush through my body. It was as if a tidal wave of cold ale had splashed my senses. I was drunk with joy! And yet, not a drop of drink had touched my lips. Has someone cast a spell over me?

Maybe that cake is to blame. It exploded with such force, it may have damaged my wits. Maybe it is the rush of barely having escaped death that is pumping me with so much life. But perhaps the likeliest of explanations might be the sight of Admiral Polly dumping a chest full of gold and gems at our feet. A festive sight to behold! What better way to bring cheer to a Dwarven Theif! And seeing OldNick blissfully drinking rum beneath a towering oak tree fueled my madness even more...

Drunken with joy, I approach my mates, one by one, making the rounds of the shore... Siegfried, Gilius, Rufus, StrangerDanger, Loradan, Henz, Stefareth, Grom Grombly, Fish, Loradan... and proceed to give them all hearty embraces and festive hugs! They never saw it coming, the poor souls! I too was shocked at myself. Had I completely lost my mind? Smothering orcs, necromancers and beserkers with Dwarven bearded kisses?!

"May the gods bless us with plenty of cheer and new adventures!" I exclaim with excitement.

Then, in a gesture of good will, I toss a bottle of BJ's possibly cursed rum in OldNick's direction, one of the lucky few to have been spared my physical affections.

++++++++++++++++++++++++
High constitution. Leather armour.
1 x cure poison potion. 1 x heal potion.
Lockpicks. Trap disarm kit. Rope.
Ring of free movement - this ring means traps and spells to ensnare me will not work.
Shortbow and quiver of enchanted arrows (paralyze).
Lucky dagger. Light hammer.

(Wishing you all a very pleasant holiday season! Even to those beyond the Northern tunnel!)
