You don't need to be there at the very start of the game.
Each turn lasts two days so you need to login and decide what to do in that time.

Finally I think I have contacted everyone about their starter equipment (apart from Josh who is undecided on his class).
Let me know if I have missed you.

I will give more info on how the game will play out tomorrow morning.
