The Daggerfall Unity - GOG Cut has just recently joined our GOG ranks. It’s a great opportunity to take a look back and discover a huge legacy of The Elder Scrolls games that you can read about in the article on our blog.

Also, check this great video from Indigo Gaming below – it will give you a great perspective on how ambitious the The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall project was at the time:

Waganari: Skyrim, when?

(Sorry, I had to)
Understandable.

I gave in and broke the seal on my retail LE copy and claimed it on Steam (which I finally gave in an install a couple months ago due to march 2022 Humble Choice (Mass Effect LE was too good to pass up at that price and it just so happened to include a few Steam games).

I'd buy it again here on GOG just for a DRM free copy though. :)
.
I've always wanted to try Daggerfall, especially after learning about the impressively large-scale things involved in the game. I have read that it can create a dynamic dungeon that can take months of real time to explore and escape.

Nope, the whole world (map, cities, dungeons) have been generated and stored into game data (that's in part why it was a 550MB game at the time). Only thing that varies when you visit a dungeon are enemies and loot.

It was said the size of Daggerfall was aproximatelly the size of British Islands. But oviously with a lot of empty space and few things to do. It is indeed a good sandbox to be filled with content. Daggerfall Unity opens a lot of opportunities.

The massive size and scale is one of the things that attracted me the most about the idea of the game.

The original Daggerfall and Unity versions have massive Dungeons, indeed, and somehow confusing. The 3D automap didn't help much. But Months to solve?. No. But a lot hours maybe.

In Daggerfall Unity there is an experimental feature to generate smaller dungeons. But I have never tried it, There are also little things to make things easier navigating them in mods like "Archeologist"
Daggerfall is also famous for all the bugs that can be found in the game.
I want to play this but it's 6GB, and can't get it through mobile internet (1GB 2hrs) need to pay my broadband bill to unlock full potential xD
Explicitly interested to test it.

Waganari: Skyrim, when?
For those of us who are interested in it, let's hope it's part of the other surprises, as mentioned on the Summer Sale webpage. I'm ready for it.

You can always Install your vanilla Daggerfall copy and download Daggerfall Unity from the developer's site, then install the mods you are interested in separatelly

Is the Daggerfall Unity - GOG Cut version without these bugs or is it still an unstable game?
