grimwerk: I'll split hairs here because I think it suits the thread.
(Though I understand the spirit of the post.)

Wishbone: 13. Loose = Not fucking fixed in place
14. Lose = Cease to fucking keep
avatar
grimwerk: Loose can also mean "to let loose" or "to release" which is quite similar to "to cease to keep".

avatar
Wishbone: 15. Affect = A fucking action
16. Effect = A fucking result
avatar
grimwerk: One can effect a change, for example. Effect can mean "to bring about" or "to cause to happen", both of which are actions.
Yeah, the point isn't really all the possible definitions, but rather the specific ways in which those words are constantly being mixed up by people online.

On the subject of splitting hairs, the verb form that you highlight is used mostly in a formal context: 'brought about' or 'caused to happen' 'as a result'.

Egregious (adj): Outstandingly bad

But how is this relevant in here -> The Banner Saga?

although:

1. Regardless of the fact that; even though: Although the room is big, it won't hold all that furniture.

2. But; however: He says he has a dog, although I've never seen it.

Procrastination

To put off doing something, especially out of habitual carelessness or laziness.
To postpone or delay needlessly.

A phrase I enjoy using (but rarely get cause to) is "callipygian pulchritude".

Callipygian:
adjective
rare
adjective: callipygian; adjective: callipygean
having well-shaped buttocks

Pulchritude:

literary
noun: pulchritude

So remember when you're about your daily tasks to take a moment and stop to appreciate any callipygian pulchritude you may come across.
