Limited Run Games makes physical boxed versions of video games with physical discs inside of them and sells them and they always seem to be Digital Rights Management (DRM) free, but I do not know if they are 100% Digital Rights Management (DRM) free. Now that Embracer Group / THQ Nordic has purchased them I hope very much we see them make and sell 100% Digital Rights Management (DRM) free physical boxed versions of the PC versions of their video games to sell in brick and mortar retailer stores.

I would purchase a Red Faction 1 physical boxed version of the PC version. My physical boxed version of the PC version of Red Faction 1 that I purchased back in 2001 / 2002 is all crushed and the ink on the top of the box where I opened it is fading away. I have kept it in a storage bin for the last fourteen years. because of the condition it is in. Come on Embracer Grouq / THQ Nordic make my dreams a reality.
a man can dream
Mmmm... while they don't seem to use DRM... ahem sorry, I mean "Digital Rights Management (DRM)". While they don't seem to use it, they are kind of scummy for other reasons. Maybe this buyout will improve things? Maybe not.

I am suprised he did not say Toys Headquarters (THQ)"
What they are doing reminds me a lot to the old Infogrames, growing and growing, getting studios and IP's...

I really hope things do not explode as usual, it is always a bad bussiness for he playerbase. :)
Meh. I don't like Limited Run Games anymore. They have gone from making limited physical editions of indie digital games to trying to sell as many collectibles and collector's bundles as possible for crazy prices. There's also the indefinite waiting time for when the purchases are manufactured and ready to ship out, which could be close to a year from the order date. I find collecting physical games to not only be a chore now but personally pointless, because it lacks the full offline alternative since modern games require internet connection for DLCs and patches. Yes, there are some indie games where the complete games are on the cards but it seems like physical editions are more for collecting the boxes than anything else. Because of this, I see myself returning to retro games on retro consoles (the only exception being DRM-free PC games on GOG).
They've also embraced/assimilated Singtrix,Middle-earth Enterprises, Tuxedo Labs and Tripwire Interactive.
Every time I hear "Embracer Group / THQ Nordic acquire..." the Empires music form Star Wars plays in my head, I really hope that not some subliminal warning for the future.
Market "conglomerates" are NEVER a good thing.

Funny, in the "free market" the bigger fish always wins due to sheer power. I wonder if that's so "free" after all.
Some more for the pile.

Wow, that list of subsidiaries sends a chill down my spine.

Maybe with new management Limited Run Games can be good. I've had nothing but trouble in the past, so much trouble that I refuse to give them anymore money.
