And now I have to re-install Elex to see how it was and could I continue and finish it..
I own all of PiranhaBytes' games but I haven't gotten around to playing any of them yet... I suppose I really should play Gothic and Elex soon, at least, given the fact that we're getting the Gothic remake and now this sequel lol
So another Gothic rehash with oversimplified factions and a story that ends up being largely forgettable? Good to know. I bit on Elex. It's good to know I'm safe giving the sequel a pass.

Lifthrasil: Nice. More Gothic in the Elex setting. Yes, Piranha Bytes don't do anything revolutionary. They just re-use their successful formula. But hey, it works! So I'm looking forward to Elex 2.
Don't forget about the jank.
Wouldn't be a Piranha Bytes RPG without it. And a mutated chicken or other (avian) critter of unusual size in the starting area that you'll die to, over and over again.

pkk234: I should probably play Gothic 1 n 2 first lol, just sitting in my log
Just be prepared for a rough time. Even at the time these games didn't fit in with the rest at all. But man do they give out some special vibe that just kind of sticks to you and makes you love all that clunkiness and how very little the game cares if you succeed or not. When you die, it just leaves you at that. No game over. Just look at your corpse. Does the game care. It does not.

Even with all the "streamlining" and few shortcomings ELEX arguably still turned out better than anything else in the open-world aRPG segment at that time.
ELEX II promising "more of the same" is proper good news in this regard.
Still havent played the first sadly. Still, im sure the release of a second would bring with it an irresistable discount
Elex...

... a game I both love and hate.

If PB would get someone on staff who knows their way around a good combat system...

... but they don't.

I'm sure I'll play Elex II, but... ATM not that excited about it.
Looks great. Looking forward to seeing it here on GOG.

Wishlist entries are already popping up:

Nice!

I actually *really* enjoyed the first game. It's a slow start because you totally suck initially, but I think a lot of people got hung up on trying to advance by fighting (TINY amounts of XP!) vs banging out some early quests (HUGE XP!!!) and doing a bit of exploring. Again, you suck at first and you're meant to sort of explore / integrate yourself into the initial society in order to score some level ups and better weapons / armor.

I ended up playing the game on "easy mode" without realizing it - I initially targetted a certain kind of gun without really realizing that it would be SUPER overpowered by the middle-late / late game. But it was still a really interesting world to explore and the companions were a lot of fun. Something about it just "worked" for me.

I've said it before, but it really did feel like bringing Gothic into the modern era, cleaning up some of the stuff that felt "old" but maintaining the feel and spirit of the original.

No, you dont have to. Its bad. Like really bad. Each faction is practically the same - fanatics and there is huge empty open world similar to this from gothic 3.
The jank is real! ;) ... While I never could get into the Gothics (mainly due to technical reasons and some poor aging), I've quite enjoyed the Risen trilogy and Elex.

I don't know.. I can almost relate to protagonist who barely survives a hit and is losing his hair. =D
And why wouldn't he, place is full of deadly mutants but you can collect toilet paper so it's another point for the game and jetpack is kinda cool.
Great news, loved the first one. :)

All gog has to do is give us a store page already, we all know it'll be a day 1 release anyway. ;)

Keep 'em coming THQ Nordic and Piranha Bytes!

You think Elex was better than Breath of the Wild or Horizon Zero Dawn? I don't think we have much more to discuss.
