Hey all!

The Islamic festival of Eid-ul-Adha (literally Feast of the Sacrifice) will be coming up next week.

Usually gifts are given to younger relatives, but in this case, since I finally have a little spending cash in my gog wallet, I figured I'd also show my appreciation to the incredibly generous gog forums.

Up for grabs are:
2 prizes of stuff on gog up to $9.99
1 prize of stuff on gog up to $19.99
(the price I have to pay...I'm not sure about regional pricing)

Just to show some token amount of effort, nothing related to Eid, but I'd like you to write a Tanaga to mark that you're entering. A Tanaga is basically a poem of 4 lines, each being 7 syllables long, with each line ending with the same rhyme (rhyming scheme AAAA). If you want to write a longer poem, you can use multiple stanzas of 4 lines with each stanza having a different rhyming scheme, but each line must still be 7 syllables long.

For example:
I saw him on the roadside
Out on my daily bike ride
A blind man with his eyes cried
Raging at the rush hour tide

Rules:
*Your entry must have at least 1 stanza of 4 lines, 7 syllables each, AAAA rhyming scheme
*You must have some contribution outside of giveaway threads
*You joined before May 2018
*If you want to share a tanaga you wrote, but don't want to enter, please specify!
*You can enter multiple tangas if you want, but only one counts.
*You can enter for someone else, but each person only gets a single chance (multiple people entering for someone else will just count as 1 entry)
*Winners will be picked through a combination of random.org and which tanaga I like
*Selection will occur at some point on Sunday next week (26th of August).

Not in, but +1!
With great thankfulness I say:
I'll enter this giveaway!
I hope I will cry: "Hooray!
I win and now I can play!"
(second stanza)

Ashes of Malmouth looks nice
So I choose that as my prize
Or if too high is it's price
I'll take Requiem, with fries.
Wa alaykumu as-salam
and Happy Eid to you.
I am in.

My tanaga,
In times of war, children will die
distraught and helpless, mothers will cry
politicians will offer sympathies, being ever so sly
and people will say and wonder, God abandoned us but why
In, thanks for the giveaway, great concept, it's hard but I'll try

I was playing Baldur's Gate
When she called, the girl I hate
But she's hot, so instant date
Kinky sex, that was my fate

Happy Eid too for fellow muslim. Here we gifting money for younger relatives at Eid ul Fitr, while Eid ul Adha usually spent helping the neighborhood mosque in the sacrifice aspect.

everyone feels so upbeat
after prayer is complete
not worrying what to eat
now the fridge is filled with meat

Gog forum is great. After writing Haiku for Poppy, now a Tanaga for you.

Exactly :) English is not my first language and after I wrote the tanaga, I realized that great is probably considered one syllable so I changed it to kinky. Another option crossed my mind but if I used it, it could be censored :D
Not in. Interesting Idea :)
Too many for fence to hold,
The sheep escape the sheepfold;
Too many to all be told,
We lose the stories of old.

I'll be in. I love the creative participation threads!

Thanks!
Not in, +1! :D
Not in but +1 for the generous giveaway.
I'm in. Not much of a poet but I'll give it a try.

I have confession to make
I had a bad stomach ache
A big muffin I did take
Later found out it was fake
Thanks and do not find it mean
that this rhyme doesn't fit at all
I don't need to keep it clean,
'cause I don't want to be in ;)
