I want to refund an early access game I just got because it frankly sucks, I won't say which one.

I see the 14 day refund policy it says is different to the normal 30 day one, but as I look around I can't figure out where to go about it, I've found the Support section where I can make a ticket and put in reasons from a drop down box (I have gone with "other) none of which are early access refund, they want a dxdiag attachment which isn't needed, I'm not here for tech support I want to refund this terrible game.

What am I missing ? If the 14 day early access refund policy is different the website doesn't make it easy or intuitive to do!
what did you expect for Early Access?

I'm holding onto the one I bought. You never know.
Why not say which game? They're not trade secrets.

This page has an option for cancelling a pre order... that's kind of close:
http://www.gog.com/support/contact/my_orders_and_payments
I found it, the links to contact support seemed to go directly to tech support not sales support thanks anyway guys got it sorted out.

The Curious Expedition if you must know!

Yeah that's probably where to go; Although they need to add more options in to better describe the situation. Still you have a subject and message box that's effectively an email, so cancelling preorder & state you want a refund on the game...

If you get a refund, mind telling me whether they do it in money or store credit?

Via the way you paid or if you want you can get credit, is my understanding of the T+C.

CF :

you can return the game within 14 days of your purchase - no questions asked. Your refund can be processed in store credit or the currency you used to make the purchase.

Huh.
So...could it TECHNICALLY be used as a sort of "free trial" system, or is that not exactly fair?

Well yes of course, but....you are not getting the finished game, so if you are happy enough with that, I guess its great for trial purposes, see if your PC will run the game, check playstyle etc. Its better than the miserable 2 hours that Steam gives you, impossible to form an opinion of an RPG in that small amount of time.
GoG should probably add an automatic refund within 14 days system or else their support will be swarmed with refund requests once people realise they can use InDev as free trial.

Also I wonder what happens when the game gets the released. Does the normal refund policy still not apply? Meaning if you buy it InDev you can't get a refund when it doesn't work on your computer when finished?

You mean, in the extremely unlikely case where you bought an in-dev game, decided you were happy with it, twenty years have passed and now Starbound has finally been released (just kidding, it was canceled in the meantime), and only now, as a finished product, it doesn't work on your computer anymore?
Interesting to see how fast this is done , do post a review of the game so that other people know about the game
