timppu: I wonder if it is possible to run them on modern systems, or do they need a retro-PC? I think the first one was a DOS game, it should at least work on DOSBox, but the others might have been 16bit Windows games...?
Indeed, Earth Siege 2 was a Windows program (if there was a DOS version or a way to run it as a DOS application I'm not aware of it). May be quite tough to get it to run on newer OSes. The original game was a native DOS program, though, so you shouldn't have any trouble to make it run via DOSBox. timppu: I originally wanted to comment how OP admitted liking Shattered Steel. I usually just see people hating the game, I though I must be the only person out there liking it. But, it is isn't as good as the other mentioned mech games, though.
I haven't played it much yet but my first impressions admittedly weren't great. Still, I thought it just doesn't have a good start. I wasn't aware that people generally "hate" it. And this thread reminds me: we still need G-Nome. I really liked that one. As well as Heavy Gear. I haven't played Heavy Gear much but I have very fond memories of it (at least the second one, I think that's the one I played).
