timppu: Never heard of it. Looks flashy, but if the point of the game is co-op, then I'll pass.

As a Japanese (high-profile?) game, I am not expecting it to come to GOG anyway.
It's still fun in singleplayer.
Online is optional.
Nice, but it's unlikely GOG will get it, as long as they don't deal with Japanese publishers directly (with the exception of AGM).

Yeah it's unlikely. But might as well try right? ;)

omega64: What's wrong with it compared to the rest?
Authenticity, balance, scale, and pacing. IA's change in character was passable, but the developer wasn't up to the task of making the endgame game fun. On harder difficulties, IA was...tedious. Enemy HP goes through the roof, into the realm of frustration.

In the main games, the enemy numbers often cause frame-rate issues, which is pretty much why IA scaled them back. Problem is, the sheer number of enemies on the screen was part of the franchise's identity.

The main EDF games are a bit more bite-sized when it comes to missions, but you get a lot of missions. Think in the ballpark of 80+ 15-minute scenarios, compared to the 15 big missions of IA. Depending on your tastes, this is a good or bad thing.

Ah so less enemies with more hp.
I can see why that would be a problem.

Ya. I literally spent a couple hours on a single mission, simply because it took so long to whittle down the HP of the metal wasps that kept respawning. Couldn't get a long enough break to deal with the main objectives, otherwise I would be ko'ed. That really soured the experience for me. :(

Sure.I just don't expect this to come here before GOG can get something big, like Final Fantasy or Resident Evil.

Good to know this. IA was the only game I played from the franchise.

I never really bothered to kill all the bugs while playing, just rush from objective to objective and even this can be kinda frustrating. And the HP scaling is just.. lol when you go on Hard I think... add to it and friendly fire so you cant use big dmg aoe weapons effectively anymore unless you want to kill your teammates.

I don't think either party has had any kind of contact. :P

The multiplayer appears to be region locked, don't get this if you want to play with someone in a different region.
Might be a bug, but can't hurt to be careful.

Have just looked at the screens and the first video (apparently you can play solo with NPCs). But since it looks like steam only I did not spend any more in-depth time reading into it. Right now its a title that I consider to consider buying if it gets on gog (or I see online-drm free in a retail store, but thats even less likely I guess) ;)
