Sometimes, if I like what I see and people consider what is delivered already good, I like to support the devs in completing their effort. I'll wait for some reviews to come in to decide.

And this is why it's important to read posts carefully for context. Those who know that user well enough know that they don't mind such content in games. The post being quoted was more of a joke re: the game's theme(s) than anything else.

I was wondering this myself. I could not see anything political ... the usual "we all should hate those games" statements and the "be careful that you don't fap too much" "jokes" but none of this afaik can be considered to be political.

The reason I bring this up is because the whole "this destroys minds and lives" is coming from various anti-porn political websites and campaigns. So absolutely, this is political. I can give you a number a number of articles where several legislators around the world have been discussing this content in a negative way and are calling for a ban of it. That's what makes this kind of rhetoric inherently political. Now that I have defended my stance on why such language is political, I ask that we do not discuss that here, thanks. It is okay to say "I don't like it" or even to make jokes, but to insinuate that it can be destructive is inherently personal politics that do not belong on this forum. I agree with that assessment. I've seen a previous poster follow a similar line of thought for another game. If such statements were based on a heavy body of scientific work and there was strong evidence and consensus that such works are inherently destructive (kind of like they have for cigarettes and health), then it would be stating a scientific fact. If it was voiced as a personal impression using the "I", then it would be stating your personal opinion.

But neither is the case here. Someone's personal values are presented as factual.

And whatever your feelings are about filmed erotic material (where live participants are involved and their well being has to be factored in), when people start labelling purely imaginary entertainment material as deeply immoral and wrong, that's when we start getting close to policing ideas in people's heads and that's when I start feeling uncomfortable.

I don't personally see anything wrong with a bit of mature jokes, puns or wordplays. I mean we're all more or less adults (aren't we?) and life is too short as it is.

Now if the words are said with malice or the intentions are to incite violence, then that is another matter entirely. Violent rehtoric of any type should not be acceptable in any forum and certainly not on GOG I would think. This is a forum for people who love games after all. Violence in games and violence in real life should never mix.

With all that said, I haven't seen any posts so far in this thread that is an example of that (nor implies politics) and I hope it stays that way.

But in these days, I also don't see anything wrong with people being vigilant either, since politics are getting a bit out of hand to say the least and violence is starting to escalate in many places around the world. After all, a lot of things that happen in this world often starts with a word or two. So I do think we need to be mindful of our words at times, since the adults of this world are the only defense the children of the world truly have. If we fail, then what is to become of their future?

I do hope to see more tolerence in these threads, since I'm sure none of us are truly haters and as said earlier, love of games is something we all share.

I really don't know why it's so hard for us to be decent to each other. We only have this one tiny planet, it's not like we can relocate to another one lol. (Maybe EM can, but most of us can't launch rockets whenever we please hehe.)

As to the game itself.

I'm not really into this genre myself (my youthful phase is long gone lol), but if there are people that enjoy it or are passionate about it, then who are we to put a damper on that joy? I do find the art style interesting though and hopefully it's an enjoyable game for those who purchase and play it.

All of this ofc, is just my personal oppinions on such topics.

Hard to keep track of all gog members so I didn't have your particular history to fallback on for context and like you, I remembered the somewhat far fetched claim a particular poster said about it (and to be fair to him, it is very possible that the wrong erotic content was indeed the tipping point for some youths already troubled with various issues, but if we censor anything that could be remotely harmful to anyone that is not in an healthy frame of mind and might get triggered by all kinds of things, then what are we left with?... tea parties?) and it is sometimes difficult to convey tone across a forum medium.
