In case you’ve missed it, last week Goodbye Eternity joined our catalog in its early access and is currently discounted -20%!

It’s a NSFW Visual Novel set in a world eerily similar to ours, at our current time. You play as a man who, after enduring a miserable existence, suddenly finds himself in his body from years ago. A golden opportunity to start a new life unfolds before you.

Check it out!
As far as NSFW VNs go, this one is of a higher quality than most in my opinion, although it is still in development and there is a bit of technical jank left to work out.

It is also a pseudo-exclusive to GOG, as Steam rejected it lol.

I saw that it wasn't on Steam and wondered about it. Weird that they would do so. The content of the game doesn't seem all that outrageous. Maybe some kind of beef with the dev over some issue (maybe they refused to do the anti-competitive price parity Steam is imposing perhaps?) ?

Anyways, yeah, I was looking forward to that game ever since I saw the trailer. Very intriguing premise and the artwork is nice too.

I may or may not wait until the game is finalized to play it (I don't have a lot of time), but happy to get the game now and support the dev.

Started it yesterday ... and boy does this go dark fast. This seems to be a bit like Butterfly Effect. Can't say much about NSFW sections because I did not play very long. However it is quality art (no voice over yet - no idea if this is intended for the full release) and sound so far. It's also not a Ren'py game for a change so it has its own UI. Like Sargon said though, the UI still has a few glitches right now.
Oh, GoG is once again swinging the censorship hammer and leaving German customers out in the cold.
Is that bad? Dunno. I mean the game is in development since 2021 and some of the pictures...well they could get you in trouble with uniformed civil servants.

That's still not GOGs fault and them 2D pictures never get you into trouble.

My guess would be, that the red haired Girl doesn't look MILF like enough.

There are actually two red heads. One is young, another is a milf. The young one is the poster girl.
"But why have your eyes turned yellow?"

I always knew anime is the path to the dark side.

Well ok then, the poster Girl is too not MILF like. But like I said that is just a guess, never heard of the game before honestly.

I recall they had a trailer for the game a while back on GOG when they were advertising games to come.

It's been a while and they haven't talked about it since, so one could definitely forgiven for not remembering.

btw, as it turns out, Steam rejected the game based on content (which is beyond weird given some of the games they have on their platform). Here's a link that talks about it: https://itch.io/post/7062805

Note that if you click on the link posted in the thread to see the dev post, there is some nudity (don't want to enter a whole discussion about that, just giving you the fyi).

For those who don't want to go to the dev post and see the content, here is what the dev posted (about 2 years ago):

Hi everyone, it's time to give you some news about Extra Life.

First of all, I would like to announce that Extra Life will never be available on Steam. We did everything we could, the name of the game has been changed, the main plot has been modified in the version I sent them, and areas that did not appear have been created especially for the Steam version and increase the chances of passing the validation.

Despite all this, it didn't work...

This news made me a bit depressed but that's how it is... I don't have the power to fight against them, they have the monopoly, and they can do whatever they want. So I'm going to concentrate on what I can do best, which is to continue to develop Extra Life, the name will stay that way, and there will be other opportunities.

In the meantime, Extra Life will remain exclusive on Itch.io, SubscribeStar, and Patreon.

Regarding the development of version 0.6, everything is going as planned, it should arrive in mid-December. Thank you again for your support, in the last few months I have noticed the first drop in revenue on Patreon and I can understand it, the 0.6 version took much longer to develop than expected. I will do my best to improve it for the next updates.

Version 0.7 will be dedicated to Sakuya and version 0.8 could be the return of Noriko ;) Take care of yourselves

Hmmm that is rather vague still.

Found this: https://itch.io/post/6523753 Doesn't exactly say much though.

Accepted quite a while back it seems, July 2023: https://www.patreon.com/posts/to-moon-85457136
But then release delayed due to the problems with switching from RenPy to Godot: https://www.patreon.com/posts/last-news-94299919

But it did not ....

I am also curious if the version we are getting on GOG now is the original version the dev intended or the one which they self censored .... did I say that I HATE it when a stupid store dictates artists how to tell their FICTIONAL (!!!!!) story?

Well, it is "Goodbye Eternity" on itch.io too and based on my past experience browsing the games of that platform, I don't get the feeling the censor much of anything, but I could be wrong.
