Re-releases of games like Doom (in the BFG Edition), Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior and Strife all have achievements and multiplayer running on modern APIs. I really don't think that there's any reason not to implement these things in Dusk. Plus, Dusk has (or at least will have) multiplayer, not having it run on Steamworks and Galaxy would be beyond stupid.

It wouldn't be the first good game unreleased by GOG.
We missed just recently a couple of generaly praised games like (drm-free everywhere else, so it was probably rejected by GOG) and the amazing [url=http://store.steampowered.com/app/597220/West_of_Loathing/]<span class="bold">West Of Loathing</span>.
And a case could be also made for Cat Quest.

So it would be just one more on the pit of GOG's curation. And in this particular case, more forgiveable as far as I'm concerned, as only the first episode was release. They could just be waiting for all episodes to be out, as they usually do.

Think of Ep 1 as a "demo" as sorts for preorders, I have two entries in steam for DUSK when I preordered so the full game will be its own thing, it is not going to be a episodic release from what I hear.

Ok, here's the thing. Telltale have released more that 10 games using that model and always finished their games. TPOTE is from daedalic, and established studio. If you can't see the difference in risk involved, that's your prerogative.

There's this actually rather good game called Blues and Bullets. It was cancelled after the second episodes. It didn't sell enough for them to keep doing it, apparently. That's why they use that model, to cut on loses.

You can always take a look here to see how many games with pixel and puzzle they reject.

Edit: And to add to this, just say that the problem are not the Devolver Digital / permadeath / pixel / platformer / roguelike games we have here, that are more often than not, rather good. The problem are the other games we DON'T have here.

It's a sad day :( I really wish I could support more GOG games but they just aren't letting me.

Got reminded of DUSK in another thread and thought I'd share some thoughts as I've been playing the heck out of the episode that got released.

As far as I can tell, DUSK is pretty much as awesome as expected.

The movement is great. It's fast, smooth, and there's even Quake style diagonal bunny hopping in there but it's even easier.

The weapons in this game feel fantastic. The way they sound, move, and recoil is just satisfying.
Also amusingly the R key spins the guns, even the rifles, which is almost completely useless but cool. I say almost useless because certain guns do a small melee attack when they flip, it's really weak but I managed to get a cultist on their own and slap them to death with my handguns.

There are a few mechanics that stick out that DUSK adds to the old-school FPS formula.
Crouching while moving does a slide, somewhat like Dishonored or Eldritch but in this case it temporarily boosts speed and is meant to be used as an evasive maneuver. This actually is pretty nice as crouching often doesn't gets used much in this type of shooter anyway, so giving it extra utility feels right.
Also, the first-person "gimbal-lock" is released while in mid-air. This is helpful in some cases such as when you use a jump pad to fly over an enemy and want to keep shooting at them until you land. If you end up upside down when you land, the character does a corrective roll to reset the "gimbal-lock". Amusingly, this means you can manually backflip in this FPS, which I haven't found a use for but it's cool anyway.
You can also pick things up and throw them at enemies, which is actually quite a bit more useful in this game than you'd expect as there's a surprising number of items to throw and do damage, including saw blades, gasoline cans, and bars of soap.

Interestingly, you can jump higher using explosives, but since there isn't an easily accessible rocket launcher right now (there is one as a secret) you can do it with things like gasoline cans.
You actually don't take much splash damage from explosives that are not from enemies in this game so the game encourages you to do it.

The secrets in this game are rather well hidden, so if you like those you're in luck. This is one of those games where you'll hit the end of the level and then immediately restart the level because you only found 2/6 secrets.

Um, who told you so? They certainly have not. Telltale left their very first episodic adventure unfinished after 2 episodes. Look up Bone.

GOG dropped the ball on this game. I couldn't wait any longer and bought it on steam.

It definitely delivers on that old school 90's shooter feeling.

Perhaps the dev or pub didn't want to deal with more than one site, biting off more than he can chew. Maybe it's better this way, better than having the game come here and then be abandoned because the dev only has time to focus on the Steam version. Of course it is a crying shame the game won't be here any time soon, if ever.

Hopefully it'll finally appear on GOG at the same day. I just played Episode 2 yesterday and boy this stuff is so goddamn awesome. Some of the best level design I've seen in years (mods excluded). I highly doubt any other shooter released in 2018 will be able to outdo this. It would be absolutely inexcusable if GOG would show no interest in making this game available here.
