I've sent many duplicate wishes reports over the years, but I've recently noticed that pretty much all of them have been ignored. This is a problem because it spreads the votes and GOG can't know the real number of votes on a specific wish

For example, there's currently 3 different entries for Shadow of Destiny. I flagged the duplicates back in September 2020. All three are still there.

Another example is Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. There's currently 2 entries, and the one with less votes has comments only contains comments that it is a duplicate entry, and the oldest comment go back to August 2017. I sent a duplicate report today just in case, but I would be surprised if nobody else did so in the past 3½ years.

Not sure what's going on, but this feature seems to be broken, and appears to be in need of a complete redesign.

Anyone else having similar problems?

I gave up on using the whole thing. (If you think 2 & 3 duplicate entries are bad, there are 14x wishes for 2x No One Lives Forever Games). I don't even think the report duplicate link does anything.

Yeah, nobody cares it would seem.

And it also seems to be using the same software as the forums, meaning no change will happen anytime soon. Also funny how the "beta" tag is still there :P

AFAIK, nobody can confirm that GOG even looks at the wish lists (these days).

Yeh, I think that TheEngimaticT claimed that the wish list mattered, way back when, but I'm extremely skeptical of that.

It does, sometimes. In a few cases curation was overruled, see Grimoire and iirc Factorio (or a similar sounding game). That guy only cares for fish, I suspect ;-)

I know! But just imagine me getting a decent reply to that question! Just imagine!!! ;-P

I'm sure someone does look at the results there, to evaluate potential big-sellers. After all, all businesses thrive on what their customers want. But there's also there matter of convincing developers / publishers, contracts, profit margins, etc.

It's not visible to us, but likely makes the list harder to make a reality.
