They already release other games here.

This is really good news. But it would be nice to see releases of some of the less well known classic D&D games like Birthright and Blood & Magic.

I totally agree. There's also a Spelljammer PC game from the '90s that hasn't been released. I would love to see the rest of the Dragonlance games also come to GOG as well. This year would be perfect as a new Dragonlance novel is also coming out this August (unless there's a delay).

Yeah I remember seeing the Spelljammer game on mobygames I think it was. The idea of piloting a a flying (wooden) magic ship through space and visiting various fantasy worlds sounds awesome, but I've never actually encountered someone who has played/finished that game and can tell us if it's good or not.

That would really come down to licensing. Some licenses are compatible with commercial products and a number can be included with LGPL, usually these are libraries or tools the rest of it depends on. Keep in mind DosBox is included in a number of the games here.

But the inclusion of said tools shouldn't be why they can sell the game(s) again. I'd think someone would just take said tools and make it as a mod you can go fetch on the steam workshop to get the same effect.

Seems like some bare-bones "remastering" that I wouldn't get too worked up about. Still, a proper company would make sure all customers got the update. Maybe they will and the Steam release is just what's getting the press, who knows.

KotOR 2 and Quake updates not being here is a much bigger deal IMO.

The games have now been released on Steam. The GOG versions haven't been updated as of yet, but interestingly, it looks like SNEG has assumed publishing duties even here.

That would be nice. I loved the 2 Buck Rogers pc games and even ended up reading the paperback books. I miss SSI, even though they are long gone now. Wonder where they all ended up.

They have been getting them for quite s while now, and there are also a lot of games not on gOg. There are some notoriuos examples, such as Cinemaware Anthology (https://store.steampowered.com/app/326590/Cinemaware_Anthology_19861991/) which have 13 Cinemaware games for a pittance and released in 2014, or the MacVenture series from 2015. Then off course is the whole SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics and so on.
