Eddster: The reboot of the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance series is being released June this year. So far I've only heard it being announced as release on Steam. Has anyone heard anything at all about whether the game will also be released on GOG?
I was hoping that with BG3 being on here that we would get this on GOG too.

I tried BG:DA on console many years ago and wasn't terribly impressed. It is very different to the old Bioware games. It's very linear and railroaded - seemed more like Diablo, but without the 'roguelike' randomization. It was designed to be more casual and simplified, for the console audience.
I have no desire to play it again, but it might appeal to more casual gamers.

Well, after having put a few hours into D&D Dark Alliance...
... it's not very good at the moment.
The graphics and art design are quite nice; I've really enjoyed the environments...
... but...
... the animations and action are both quite janky...
... there's a definite lag between input and action...
... and enemy AI is terrible (they often don't react to the player).
Also, playing solo -- for most -- will be an absolute chore after a level or two. Locking-on to enemies brings a completely disorienting camera angle. Because of that I've resorted to ranged attacks outside of the "combat arena" and enemies stand oblivious as you dwindle their health.
I've finished the first act (of seven) and the flaws are readily apparent. Still, I enjoy the characters, world, and art enough that I'm still interested in seeing more of the game.
Tuque says they're dedicated to the game and making it better. Guess we'll see...
... but in the current state...
... it's no big loss that it's not on GOG.

low rated
I watched a review of this game on youtube.
Based on that, my impression is that it looks like a silly, ultra arcadey, very low-rent version of Dark Souls.
The co-op mode may possibly be fun, but if it would come to GOG with Galaxy-only multiplayer instead of full Crossplay, then that co-op would probably be useless & unviable on the GOG version.

Although it sounds like you have little interest in playing (and I understand why)... Based on that, my impression is that it looks like a silly, ultra arcadey, very low-rent version of Dark Souls.

... IMHO after playing it's nothing like Dark Souls. I would think a co-op game like Vermintide 2 or LotR War in the North mixed with God of War. There is very little precision in the combat mechanics and currently -- due to a number of issues -- movement is imprecise as well... whereas Dark Souls is a game of measured movement and precision. Although I'm biased...
... a game that far outdoes Dungeons & Dragons Dark Alliance in arena battle with both hordes and giant monsters is Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen or God of War. Both of those games -- although not co-op -- have similar but vastly superior action combat... both in concept and delivery.

If it turns out to be popular then I'm sure we'll get it in a few years. We might have a chance at getting Sword Coast Legends, though. ;)

Sword Coast Legends... another game I was about to get before it disappeared from storefronts! I don't think D&D Dark Alliance is going to be popular. My guess is it will go the way of D&D Daggerdale.
I'm softening to the game. I love the art direction and map design... and the combat is just passable enough to make the game tolerable... but I think most would not be as forgiving (and I wouldn't recommend it at this point). And don't get me wrong, some of the combat mechanics are "broken." Still, I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. Sure do hope they fix it and don't just cut-and-run.

Sounds like there is zero reason to play this offline so not exactly crying out for a GOG release IMO.

They're just using the name "Dark Alliance" for the nostalgia factor, like Baldur's Gate 3. One key difference is that Baldur's Gate 3 at least looks like it will be a good game. If you've never played the real Dark Alliance games I'd recommend them on PS2 or original Xbox. They were fun consolized Diablo clones.

Well, I'm playing solo (offline) and it can be done (and I'm enjoying some of it)... ... but...
... it's not balanced to solo play and most won't have the patience for the extreme AA jank and some just plain "broken" aspects (enemy AI is pretty bad). Still...
... the game does have some charm to it -- especially if you are a fan of the Crystal Shard lore.
I will say this...
... the majority of problems with this game feel like production issues. What do I mean? D&D DA feels like a half-finished game that was forced to market by WoTC too soon instead of a game done by a developer who had no clue how to make a successful game in this genre. I may be wrong, but there are multiple issues that feel like this was a glorified alpha pass dumped to the marketplace (a somewhat familiar story recently).
