Hello, I am very impressed with DOSbox and once I get it operational on all my computers - all the problems out of the way - I am considering donating two or three pounds a month.

I have a problem, if I play Dungeon Keeper Gold, DOSbox jumps into full screen, after a second or two Windows 10 complains that the wrong display mode is showing, in this case 1200x1920.

When the game starts only 2/3 of the screen is visible - from left to right.

If I change the 'original' settings for the fullscreen and doublebuffered resolutions to 1200x1920 the display shows in the centre like a stamp on an envelope, tiny. In fact the screen is 1920x1200.

I would so love to fix this problem as I so enjoy playing Dungeon Keeper Gold.

You'll have to play around with rendering and scaling to see what you like. Maybe get a launcher for DOSbox to make this easier.

If your monitor is rotated 90 degrees into portrait mode 1200x1900 a lot of games may not work, it'll be hit or miss. Widescreen gaming forum wsgf.org may have tips to get it working though. It's fantastic for pinball games, but not so great with most other games due to FOV problems, HUD display problems etc. as most games don't expect reversed aspect ratios that portrait mode provides.

Thank you for your reply. In fact the Windows 10 monitor setting *is* set to landscape and I cannot see any option in Display settings that indicates automatic rotation.

Ah, I see why skeletonbow might have thought you had your monitor rotated as you listed the resolution as portrait a couple of times in your post (1200x1920 is portrait).


Can you post the dosbox settings you're using?

I use the same default settings.I've heard from elsewhere that this problem has something to do with active signal resolution which can be seen in the advance graphics adapter in display settings.

Here's a guess: The monitor switches into a weird refresh rate at certain resolutions.

If you reset the DOSbox settings they are the ssettings I use. I don't think it has anything to do with the refresh rate. I see it has something to do with the aspect ratio set to 90 degrees instead of 1920x1200 [landdscape] I get 1200x1920 [portrait].

It has something to do with 'Advanced scaling esttings'

If you copy and paste the actual config file text then I can suggest changes to try.

Do you have any scaling settings set in windows? That can cause issues like this. Set your windows scaling to 100% in your display options.

I was going to suggest something similar. 0x0 should mean that it sticks with the desktop display mode.
