Zoom Platform is the only place with a perpetual license to sell the Atomic Edition of Duke Nukem 3D. You can probably forget about anyone else ever getting to sell it again.
I guess the current rights holders don't like money, so I decided to not give them any. I bought an ancient Atomic Edition CD-ROM and slammed the GRP-file in eDuke32 instead. Problem solved.

exiledemulator: What I was referring to is what as I heard it anyway that GOG has some type of agreement with the original owners of Atomic Edition that gives them the right to still distribute at least that version of Duke. Unless that agreement is now invalid cause of buy out or merger or whatever Gearbox or whatever Randy is doing to ruin video games for the fan base...
I don't know anything about any agreement with the original owners, but I don't imagine they can even sell Duke themselves or provide it to anyone else, due to their agreement with Gearbox. Any such agreement might cover other original games, but not those now under the control of Gearbox.

For the record, ZOOM Platform also provide most of the later mission packs for the Duke too, in an extra zip file, but they don't officially support them, and there could be issues related to working with newer Windows.

Timboli: If that is so, and I seriously doubt it, why did you do it?

foad01: Huh? Are you not saying/writing something like "I opened a website link" or something similar. I am not the starter of this thread.

I am not sitting on a high horse. I have nothing against casual conversations where people mention any store including the Zoom Platform. However, it is totally sus that certain people can be found in specific threads (like this one here) and are mentioning the store. The frequency of this is the problem. Some of these people are definitely associated with the said store. In this case it is not a casual conversation anymore. It is advertisement. And exactly this has to stop. That's all.
Just want to spend a second highlighting you went off-topic and did more name-dropping than anyone else. Either way, more people get to play Duke which is a good thing, even if the mystery random user who oddly gets upvoted out of the blue decides to break COC (freely) and try make it a targeted post. GG, Always bet on Duke. Glad to see the rules apply to only some between legal threats!
For the record, I do not work for Zoom Platform.

I only mentioned Zoom Platform because that's the only other DRM-Free legal avenue that exists for Duke Nukem 3D.

I guess that would depend on whether they were reported or not, or if a GoG member of staff (Mod or otherwise) happened upon it... *Shrugs*

In this forum you usually get downvoted. Sometimes it happens because *censored*. Go ahead and downvote me. You can also report me. I don't care.

Hey, be careful there BigCore ... looks like you're sailing awfully close to 'advertising'

XD

It's not possible to downvote anymore. They recently removed that feature.

Funny: a month and a half ago you guys complained about downvotes, and now you complain about upvotes, too?
Btw: we all know who you work for...

I've never complained about Downvotes, I said the scripts made them pointless.

Apparently, you don't? Not exactly a secret to find projects I work on mind, it's literally listed. Would you like to know where I volunteer on weekends too to sound extra ominous? Football coaching badges perhaps? I

Also Foad for being such a big GOG fan, you seemingly only began using the services recently and have no idea what is going on in the forum you feel so passionately about only to then take the topic off-topic in the limited posts you made.

Check out the AMC too for more Duke 3Dness without the blonde bombshell

I remember once stating in a thread, that all my "news into the forum popping" comments got downvoted regularily over a certain amount of time.

But, as far as I can remember, I never complained about downvotes.

I did, however, state my opinion several times over the past few years, that I believe the REP system should get abandoned completely, and replaced with "hide comment" and "ignore user" buttons, instead.

Oh plus a dedicated "report comment" button for spammers and "legally challenging" comments (aka: the "red phone" to contact the people responsible for the forums).

I don't think rep systems are good in any form for the most part, so we can agree there but I feel like we might be going off-topic here mate!

Linko64: ...
You are complaining about off-topic posts and derailment of this thread. You brought it up again though and you are currently continuing with off-topic posts here. It also doesn't help that you mention something about Duke Nukem 3D at the end.

so...

LOL.

Either you report me or you give it a rest. Your choice.
