Licurg: Yes to both, but why did you wait so long to ask these things ? It says you've had an account for over a year and a half.

TrevorJones: Laziness. I built the three machine system, with switches and Monitor, but have only now that I have a terrabite memory on one decided to see if I can centralise. Now I can make my Xmas present list out.
Remember to put Sacrifice on your list. You'll thank me after you play it.

Might want to do it soon -- the Big Winter Sale is supposed to start this week. =)

TrevorJones: I have to maintain three machines, Windows 98, XP, and 10 to cater for all the ages of games I like to play. Is it true that GOG removes DRM, so that even the older games will play on a modern O/S?

Can I also ask, since the prices on GOG are in dollars, are the games playable on UK systems?

If both of these are affirmative, I can become GOG's avid customer, and obsolete at least one computer.

Thanks for help.
This sounds like you'll have a lot of fun here.
Welcome to the madhouse of the Grumpy old Gamers.

I buy my old games here when I want to have stuff that has all the fiddling around for modern systems (by now in my case Linux) already integrated.

Okay, at 74 I need to know specific titles here. XD I can't play platformers anymore because at 40 my reflexes are shot. :P

Very good, maybe you'd like to vote for Archon coming to GoG then?
http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/archon_the_light_and_the_dark
Since C64 packages haven't reached GoG yet, maybe Archon Ultra is more likely to arrive here - we already got many great Dos-titles.

Impossible Mission would be nice too... maybe some day when enough people here are interested in really old games.

Yes! Commodore 64 games really should be available here. Especially Archon.
I hate Archon Ultra, though; so I'd be more in favour of bringing Archon Classic (Trailer) to GOG.

tinyE: Yeah, that's all great, but I was told there would be punch and pie.
Well if not I'll go and build my own DRM Free Revolution,

with Blackjack and hookers!

It's not your reflexes - When they prepare the games for modern systems, GOG also makes them much, MUCH harder by default. I should know; I'm 38 and I've noticed the same thing.

And cheap wine? Can't have a revolution without cheap wine.

Ok, its solved. How do I "mark"it? I now have more information than I need, and can add Tzar, Cleopatra, .. to my Xmas list. Have to keep the 98 machine for for Kohan, and others. Thanks, all of you for information and facts I didn't know I needed.

Gamers don’t age: they earn experience and level up ;)

In a game when my character levels up he/she gets better at doing things. Every time I level up I get worse! :P
