I bumped into a large man at a mall. When he turned around, I saw his infant child fused into his chest. The man didn't say anything at first, but his eyes were cold and dead, and they pierced into mine. When I finally asked him what had happened to him and his child, the child spoke instead, and the voice didn't match. It sounded like an adult. The child told me he was going to die soon, his father's heart pushes his blood through his body too hard and fast for him to live. When I asked the father directly how that made him feel, he finally opened his mouth and said, in these exact words, "I never had an easy life, but I had a life, and that's what counts"
I woke up after that.
I woke up after that.
