As with every new book, once you have finished the preceding one, you get the option "Start/begin or whatever book xxx". The Load/continue options load old saves, whereas starting a new book does not, although you have to have old saves.

EDIT: I gather upon finishing a book a separate record of decisions is created, which is all that is required for the following one(s).

In other words, I should wait until a installer for the new patch comes out, mmm.

Thought I was the only one with this issue, Mine crashes at launch without GOG Galaxy.

Odd, I had finished book 4 yet no option to start book 5. I thought maybe I had gone back into book 4 effectively restarting that book, but it didn't even give me the option to start book 4 or any other book. Not pleased. If I click new game it wants to start book 1, if I click continue, like you said wants to load a saved game (which crashes) and if I click continue it gives me the start of book 1? Seems to me that the install has messed up my whole game. Anyway I have just started the damn thing from the beginning
They also there was only one bug, but the game has graphical issue also. I am getting a few stripes here and there and trailers on the characters outline in some scenes, which I was not getting before the update.

I just checked Dreamfall chapters only list of owned games at 2.33 pm EST North America, and there is a patch 5.03 that wasn't there yesterday. Is Patch 5.03 the Galaxy patch that people are talking about and mentioned by Red Thread? I finished part 4 of the game, but do not want to download patch 3.05 from Galaxy. I usually download a Windows patch and download it to a folder on my computer.Will there be another patch that will let me download Book 5 that is not downloaded by Galaxy?

You just downlaod the installer of the patch via the browser and install it.
There's no need to use Galaxy.

Thanks Jin - Good! Just one more thing. I will download the 4 parts of Book 5, But today a new patch has been added since yesterday so now there are 2 patches. Do I download the 4 parts of Book 5, plus the 2 patches? thanks,

What version does your game-installer have (you can see that in your library)?
As soon as a patch is released it also is included in the games installer, meaning if your installer is the 5.1.1 version your don't need to install the patches.

The game installer under OS in My library say 5.1.1 (Gog-21) - Is Gog 21 a number Gog gives the parts of the Dreamfall chapters game? I thought because patch 5.03 was a higher number than patch 5.1.1 that 5.03 was what I would need to install. I haven't installed Book 5 yet, so I guess I need to install patch 5.1.1 when I install the game since it was the last patch made? I have played Books 1-4 and they worked out ok, but I am a bit confused about the order of the patches and what they include, etc.. I am using 64 bit BTW.

Stryder: I don't see any Upgrades when I refresh my account if you mean refreshing my page when I am on my current Dreamfall Chapters page for Book 5 which I still have to download , but when reading the link you give in your message to me, I can see there could be a difference where you buy the game whether from Gog.com directly and what updates you got. I was a backer but I can't remember any updates or maybe I missed them. Things may make more sense to me when I install the game, but I need to know what I need to install if its just the 4 Dreamfall Chapters files for Book 5.Thanks for your input.

If you download the intaller ot the game now and use the you have the newest version which includes all books.
If you already have installed an older version on your PC you need to apply a patch.
5.1.1 is newer than 5.0.3, 5.0.3 adds the fifth book and 5.1.1 seems to fix a few bugs.


If you're not sure how to do it or in which order to install the patches (usually it is mentioned which version of the game is required to use the patch here it's not unfortunatly):
Deinstall the game (you get an option to keep your savegames) and reinstall it with the new game-installer and you have the newest version with sll 5 books.
