Just installed all 4 parts of Dreamfall Chapters update and now it keeps crashing when I try to load or continue.
Anyone else having this problem?
I made sure nothing else was running in the background and I installed 64 bit as per my pc

Yes it was working before. I installed all 4 folders part 1-4 which I am pretty sure is the whole game. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, nothing. I tried running as administrator, nothing.
It starts to load, the little icon goes around in a circle and then just stops. :( Not a happy bunny

Sounds like there is a patch missing v5.0.3
Red thread have said on twitter that they have updated steam but not Gog. They say there are working on it so looks like we just have to wait.

Now they are saying to get the update you need to install galaxy. Red Thread have said this was a solution that you were involved in. I tried to install Galaxy (even though I didn't want it) and the stupid thing wont install. I am getting frustrated. Gog why are you holding us to ransom?. Galaxy is optional. I don't want to install it. I have paid for a season pass and I should not have to install Galaxy to get it!!!

Thats.... that can't be right. Half the board has this title by now and thats the first I've heard that.

They've done this once or twice before. The update is probably already available via Galaxy since if I recall it downloads the individual files. But GOG hasn't finished making the standalone package for download. The previous times this has happened it was available a few days later.

If any of you that have problems with saves failing to load have an old installer with book 4, install that one and finish book 4, whereupon you can install the new one and play book 5 (you don't need the patch).
According to a statement by Red Thread, the problem does not happen to those who don't load a save but just start book 5. I happen to have finished book 4 before installing the new gog installer and I have no problems playing book 5.

Wait, then what were the updated files of yesterday then?

That's not right, I finished book 4 and I still cannot load. How do you just start book 5? Continue? I tried that..no Joy

Ok Crapola!!!! I think I just accidently deleted my save game
Tried installing my old installer and it said I was missing one...What the hell. Arggghhhh!!!
I am a grown woman but I think I am going to cry :O
Going to have to put my big girl panties on and remind myself what I say to my kids...Take a deep breath. Its just a game, the universe is not ending....... :/

So friggin proud of myself. I managed to restore my deleted save file!!! Took me ages to work it out cos I am not really good at that kinda thing but I did it. Whahahahaha!!! Now just gotta wait till mon/tue for the patch. Phew

Hi folks, another update:

In order to push a patch out on a Friday night, we had to use the GOG Galaxy client. The patched version (v5.0.3) of Dreamfall Chapters will be available through Galaxy, so keep that in mind — and if you don't yet use it, now is probably a good time.

ETA is unknown, but it should be quite soon.
