An advertisement for BP?

BP is an oil company. There's an X (which is often used as a symbol of banning/"do not"/disapproval) over the sun and the water, which are renewable energy sources.
Edit: Ok, so the X is just over the sun, but still.

Whoa, a bit far-fetched , don't you think? And why BP and not Shell? Shells come from water so you can explain both parts of my picture ;)

BP was involved with a massive oil spill a few years back. Taking place just outside the US, it's not really strange that zeogold would think of BP and not Shell.

As for the picture, I can't say where it's from.

EDIT: Now I get it. Since I've been rather overrepresented in this thread/game as of late, I will wait a few days so that someone else can have a go.

Essentially, I'll pass unless searching for someone who knows the answer yields nothing.

What MightyPinecone said. Shell is more known here for being a gas station company, while BP gets the bad rap for oil and destruction of the environment thanks to that oil spill fiasco.

ZFR: Sunless Sea
Yup that's the one

Makes a lot more sense now, thanks. Probably it was not difficult to understand right from the beginning but a lot of things are happening today and I'm somewhat overwhelmed already.

It admittedly wasn't very clear of a joke and probably makes more sense in the context of my eco-centric home state.

Hehe, you just can't help yourself, can you? ;)

I remember you praising this excessive genre–like–sometime ago.

This time I did understand a very nice wordplay so you know - progress ;)
