Hmmm,I mostly at loss so I will try Divinity: Original Sin. There are cats with quests in there but I wouldn'tsay they are important characters so it won't most likely be it.

Yes, it IS Divinity Original Sin.
And Arhu *IS* an important character, one of the most important side-characters in fact O_o
And he is also a white cat. A man-cat. Or cat-man. But half of the time he is in his white cat form. I even tried to look up a reference image that looks a bit similar to his in-game cat portrait.
In the EE you even meet him first in his cat form.
He also appeares in Divine Divinity where he helps you with a quest in his kitty form.

Blah I suspected this will be easier, but appearantly not many people played Original Sin x_x
I should start playing more games instead of just replaying my favourites, so I have more ideas what to draw next...
