I was trying to find the changelogs for the missing patches, but haven't found them yet.

It may be different for the GOG version, but I own the Steam version and had to find the settings file and change the resolution to the 1400s and no bigger than that or else the game would give me a black screen.

Thankfully i don't care about online and my laptop is not that big.

I was able to complete the game many times without the latest patches. There's nothing game breaking - not sure what the patches fix (didn't notice any bugs apart from the rare crash to desktop).

If memory serves, the issue is with your pawns. I believe it was something along the lines of your pawns not being able to receive or keep gear or items from other players if other people used them from the on-line pawn pool.

*edit* I also played through the game without problems.

I encountered almost no problems even without the patches. So few in fact, that I don't even remember what they were.

Btw, could you get it as a gift?

Yes, in fact i traded with a fellow region lock bs victim just today.
It's reassuring to hear that the game is fine on it's own. Can't wait til the weekend to crack it open.
