I'm posting this here since there's no dedicated sub-forum. I'm playing Dragon View which recently released here, and after beating the boss of the Ortah Temple, my character reaches a room with an orb, a dialogue scene starts, then all of the graphics go corrupt and the game glitches out. This error repeats each time I've tried to get past the dialogue. Anyone experienced this and figured out how to progress in the game?

I don't have the game, but I have occasionally seen similar behavior from other emulated games when save states are involved. Did you use save states? If yes, have you tried loading the game from a normal save and see if you can progress normally?

I haven't tried that, but Googling around I found this:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/588294-dragon-view/49215414
Apparently, most emulators, including the one packaged with this release, have issues with the special effects used during this scene. I tried loading the SRAM in ZSNES since save states are incompatible, and was able to complete the scene just fine. Now that I'm done, I'm going to move the SRAM save back to the GOG release and see if I can continue as normal.

Talk about an ancient bug.

As soon as I go to enter the room with Dragon Lords in the Ortah Temple, the screen gets garbled, I hear one of those like.. funky deep laughs like the Cave Men/Fighter Mage enemies and the thing promptly crashes.
That sounds suspiciously like copy-protection... maybe a open a support ticket for Gog to fix it?
I finished the game recently (a few years ago) and I never ran into any problems with it. Though, I was playing on the actual cartridge.

It kind of sounds like something that might be caused by playing continuously and thus you're more likely to run into it if you use an emulator and use savestates instead of saving and loading normally. Like at some point it writes something into memory, but there isn't anything in the code to clear it back out again, so if you play without turning the console off and on again or quitting the game and reloading your save to flush out that rogue bit of memory up until you get that point where the game actually needs to calls upon that part of memory for the cutscene then it crashes. So you're more likely to run into it playing on an emulator (where a lot of people just use save states to bookmark their place) instead of the actual console. Although apparently people have reproduced the glitch on console too and have used it for speedrunning.
