Could GOG kindly offer smaller packages for "large" games, as the slow download speed we have in Australia is a bit of a hassle with some games. The downloads could be in 1 GB chunks, allowing a program to connect all the bits ready for installation. With a download speed of 1.5 Mbits/sec I find that 1 GB takes about an hour to download. It would be far easier for me, and I suspect others, if games were in ! GB chunks. A game would still take forever, but the smaller pieces mean that there is less problem with a disconnection during the download.

Just an idea for consideration.

There are download managers that you can use. The GOG Downloader will resume files if the connection drops. Galaxy should, as well. And of course there are 3rd party managers you could use also.

If you've got trouble getting files pulled down, look into using a download manager. It'll save you some hassle.

I used to have the GOG downloader, but I am afraid lost it when Windows 10 needed to "reset" everything. Does the GOG downloader use an encrypted password or is the password transmitted in clear text. It is so old, and now appears to be obsolete, and I wondered whether it was because it was pre https and used an unprotected password.

Anyway, thank you for the suggestion, I will look into the downloader again.

You can also use your web browser. Every modern web browser should be able to resume downloads with the built in download manager without having to redownload a failed download due to disconnecting, however there are tonnes of extensions to improve the overall experience as well. Just visit the official extension/addon website of your favourite web browser and search for "download" then peruse the various addons.
