Jade Empire at the list of more classical games...I feel old :(
avatar
j0ekerr: 500 copies of Jade Empire, this is going to take a while.

I'll play Bird Story, I'll probably finish it before Jade Empire sells out.
Jade Empire will go fairly swiftly at this price :)

Crol3993: I got all the Tex Murphy collection to try
I forgot about those, really good games with a nice sense of humour. I also have the CDs for Under A Killing Moon, but I bought the gog version as well because changing between 4 CDs gets annoying fast.

gamesfreak64: i have some towerdefense games aswell, they are not 3d but more 2d and they might look 'childish'
i have these( GG)
all drm free , except for 300 dwarves (key or something needed to activate)

Sidereal Defense (not that good but it is list priced at 49 cents i believe so you cant expect much for 49 cents)

the better games

Admiral Nemo
strategy they say but i think its more a differnt version of a towerdefense, except you have to control and shoot things yourselves, its a simple but nice game

Roaming Fortress

this is a bit different, you must destroy things while you walk on a dino or something that has some small fort on it

Royal Defense: Invisible Threat
Toy Defense
Toy Defense 2 Deluxe Edition

iBomber Defence Pacific

Orczz
(Casual, Strategy, Indie, Tower Defense)

Risen Dragons
(Casual, Strategy, Tower Defense, Match 3, Time Management)

The Wall - Medieval Heroes
(Casual, Strategy, Tower Defense, Time Management)

300 Dwarves
(Casual, Strategy, Tower Defense)

(based on styxx from c64)
fortix 1 and fortix 2
--> fun game i play it alot

Garden Rescue
(Casual, Strategy, Indie, Tower Defense)

zeffyr: Robin Hood appeared 3 times already :)
Yes, I was so excited at getting my first (and so far only) critical hit on it, that I forgot to take it off. :)

ajensen: Thanks to both of you for the replies! I skipped buying it this time because of my trepidation about the Windows 7 issue, but I'm sure it will come up on sale again - if not this Insomnia, then a future sale. Thanks again!
No prob. I just checked and the store page says Myst's requirements are:

Minimum system requirements - Windows: XP / Vista / 7 / 8, 1.8 GHz

That suggests Windows 7 is supported and does not differentiate bit width so both are supported. I just went to test-install it and discovered that it appears I don't own it on GOG. Doh. I played the CD/DVD version on Windows a few years ago but that was XP. I still have that but that wouldn't be an adequate test. I do have RealMyst on GOG but again not a valid test. Perhaps someone else who has it can test on Windows 7...
Wasteland 2 fancy has been tickled, noticed it in the last round and decided meh, let it go......and now have buyers remorse........

I hope Robin kept his tights on every time he appeared... ;)
I don't get it - why does Gobliiiiiins sell out so fast every time??? (No I have no interest in the game, I'm just always shocked that I look at a game like that and see nothing, yet everyone else in the world seems to love it).

Even last Insomnia I said "Here we go this is going to take forever" and it blows through a ton of copies in minutes.
Good morning, I hope the game hunt has been going well for everyone!

(Yes I'm going to keep lurking here; you guys are entertaining!)

I don't think it would be buyers remorse if you didn't even buy it, lol.
... Aw dammit! Nodded off for one stinkin hour and missed Undying for the third time :(

It's fondly remembered by us Amigans, and it is very rarely on sale if I recall.

IronArcturus: Is there a reason why the Red Faction series can only show up in this special promo? I thought GOG couldn't sell Nordic games anymore.
avatar
skeletonbow: Nordic indicated why they had to remove their games in a forum post a long while back and paraphrasing them they more or less stated that if and when they were able to return to GOG without conflicting with existing contracts/legal agreements they would love to return to GOG in the future. They've now returned briefly for 2 sales promos which implies that they may have a legal contract with another distributor for regular priced games might conflict with GOG's regular pricing construct. That is pure hypothetical speculation on my part but it is one possible explanation from what they have said previously.
After a little digging: GOG's explanation and Nordic's explanation.

My guess is that during promos it doesn't matter because each store can set different discounts. The problem seems to be the normal everyday pricing. Hope this helps.

I guess that's the beauty of the GOG community (we all love games, just we all love different types)! :-)
