Every DosBox game I have for GOG does not work. I am using Win 10, but I don't believe they ever worked on Win 7 either when I had it. i have tried compatability modes, OpenGL, Direct3D, etc. My drivers are up-to-date, etc. Possible that my Direct3D is too new?

It basically loads up, but the screen stays black and I have to kill the program. When I run DosBox program alone the boot window gets to the controller detection and just hangs.

Any suggestions would be helpful. I have a dozen GOG games that run on Dox Box and have never gotten them to work.

Thanks.
I cannot remember having this issue myself, and thus don't know how to solve it, but have you talked to support about it?

What happens if you press Alt+Enter while the screen is black?

I can't seem to get to them. The contact us link isn't working for me.

I spun up windows 10x64 pro and installed 361.75 nividia driver.. fresh installed duke nukem 3d and launched... the kernel for that driver set crashed. Recovered right away and launched with no issues... I allowed the machine to fully patch prior to testing.

Tracked crash back to resolution issues, it also crashed my virus scanner. Changed resolution to 1024x768 no more crashing and forced OpenGL though DosBOX..

will coninue testing but, i would suggest a full re-install of 10 with latest drivers.

Thanks. but no way. Just did a fresh install with latest drivers about two weeks ago. I have tried it on multiple win 7 installs and this win 10 install - has never worked. Two different video cards as well both Ati.
Perhaps support could give you some directions.

I would try, just to see what happens:
- set fullscreen to false in the config file
- try different combinations for for the output/machine values in the config file, as well as any other important looking entries
- set the dosbox exe to run with 256 colours, and play around with the compatibily settings
- manually revert to older display drivers
- cursing at the damn thing
- virtual pc if nothing else works
full screen overlay grpahics mode
windows rezolution 1024x768 (keep aspec ratio ticked)

and in your GPU options make sure your scaling is set to GPU and "maintain aspect ratio"

give that a shot too!

Weird. It should lead to https://www.gog.com/support/contact, but then, if you chose "Technical issues with games", you'll be shoved to the previous link I posted and have to choose a game. Then, with games only sold in a bundle, it won't work when clicking "I can't find solution for my problem", so pick one that's not in a bundle.

I should have been clearer. That link just runs you around in circles - leads you on thinking you can directly contact the support, but all it does is keep referring you to previous questions, and troubleshooting guides. Maybe there is a way to email, but it isn't immediately apparent.

Amazon and other sites do this same thing. They don't really want you to email or contact them so they hide their contact info.

Contact Us -> Select Inquiry type (Technical issues with games) -> Continue -> Select the Game -> List of FAQs/Troubleshooting/Previously answered Questions -> "I can't find a solution for my problem" -> Back to "Select the Game" -> around in circles with no email support option.

Tell me one of the games, and I'll find you the support link for it.

Some of the links are simply wrong, example The Ultimate DOOM:
The link you get in the games list on the support page is
https://www.gog.com/support/the_ultimate_doom_game
while what it should be (and what works) is
https://www.gog.com/support/the_ultimate_doom

That explains it. Unfortunately, the support links for unbundled games (like Master of Orion 1+2) don't work properly. Try this one.
Edit: Gydion was faster.

On the side of https://www.gog.com/support/master_of_orion_1_2 you have a box titled Contact our support team, the link there should point to https://www.gog.com/support/contact/technical_issues_with_games/master_of_orion_1_2, and works here.
