I wanted to mention Ecstatica too, just beware a downloadable version being shared around has a bug that makes it uncompletable. I had a first hand bad experience of this. It would need a GOG edition, sadly the source code is missing.
The Dark Eye would be great to have too.

I hear viruses are very scary to get on DOS, horrifies me every time it happens to me.

I played years ago a bit on a win95 old machine because i want to see the weird graphics. I don't know if works well on win10 but i guess it will be difficult to run.

Never had that experience with a DOS machine but it sounds scary as fuck. 10/10, best horror experience since that time I got a virus in my USB drive.
