He got REALLY irritated with everybody not reading the rules and trying to either make "not in" posts without attaching a piece of art or photoshopping/image manipulating his profile.
I personally didn't quite understand this rule, since, yeah, I know that he's trying to get active participation and whatnot, but not everybody has the time and just wants to wish him a happy birthday. Especially since he said that the competition was to have fun.
I think he understands that people are just trying to have fun/poke fun and whatnot, but he was dead serious, and I think a series of times where people have ignored his rules have finally built up and completely set him off.

He's mad because people like you are running him ragged. While I personally think he overreacted, that's no reason for you to start insulting him. Lay off a bit and let him blow off some steam.
