Good grief, why is it that everybody here is some sort of amazing artist?
Hey, Sachys, I was wondering, my birthday is actually the day after yours (I'm assuming yours is the 28th), and I was actually planning to have a contest similar to yours where I have these people make an avatar for me. However, I'm not sure if you'd be upset about me piggybacking on you like this and potentially stealing your participants. Would you mind?

You can blame/thank the EGA colour palette (and my tremendous powers of eyeballing the colours in your image) for that. Monkeys are pink, right? :D

babark: Since you did allow tracing, I traced the lineart from your original image...
and ruined it completely.

Anyhow, in all its glory, EGA palette, 12 colours (including the background), zoomed in 4x for easier viewing, here is my "work".
Kinda makes you look more 'noble' and less happy. Haven't pixelled in ages, so this was fun, even if it was derivative. Thanks!
...and this, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly why I decided not to compete.
