Dalswyn: Is there a game where you play as a human companion to a cat?
Maybe Hot Tin Roof? I haven't played it, but it looks like the cat comments on the cases like a human partner, and maybe it's more clever than the human PC? I haven't seen any game where you actually play as a cat and have a human companion though.

EDIT: Whoops, Telika already mentioned it. Note to self: Remember to read through the whole thread before posting, duh.

Torchlight has ferrets and lynxes. As for me; I'm waiting for a companion snake pet that scares everyone off and gets me to the loot fast.

rtcvb32: I want a pug animal companion!
Well, you can rescue pugs in Spelunky.
How come, there are usually only DOG companions in video games? One thing I love about Torchlight II is the huge selection of animal companions you can choose from. And WHY THE FUCK are there no games with a monkey companion? A monkey companion is the best companion you can have. Much better than a dog or a cat. Can a dog climb a tree and pelt the eyes of your enemies with poo(blinding them and allowing you to have a huge advantage over your enemies)? No. Can a dog, attack from above? No. Can a dog help you make money on a street corner with an organ grinder? No. Monkeys are also just as brave as dogs too and will fight for his master no matter what. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BM5rOxkJ724 And please keep in mind, I'm talking about a monkey companion in video games only. In real life, people shouldn't have a monkey companion for many good reasons. In real life, it's best to just get a dog or a cat or a miniature donkey or a llama or a hamster.

even the link you posted from the movie says it is an australian cattle dog!

snowkatt: and that the dogmeat from fallout 3 looks more like a german shepherd
no it doesnt!

also you are terrible at googling basic facts!

Telika: Not to mention that I doubt there would even be dog races, in a post-apocalytic world. Races require careful human management and engineering, to be maintained.
you think all the old races will just die except for wolves?

Uh. I meant that it will just be mongrel planet, with big mongrels and small mongrels, etc. Dog races aren't natural, dogs crossbreed when not artificially bred into pure lineages.

It should be noted that where I live all the snakes are small and totally harmless. If I lived in Asia where the fuckers are actually quite proficient at killing people, then my opinion might be different. :P

Nah... We need a pug companion... who can carry 200lbs of weight and attack enemies, and take orders...loyal, and after a battle even if they died comes back to life...

Depends on where you live actually. In some places, you could fear them AND like them.....as snacks. I think Vietnam or China.

Never eaten snake but I'll try anything once. I would imagine it might be quite tasty if you had a good cook at the helm.

From what I've heard, its really lean meat that lacks fat. Its to be noted that a very very few snake species have poison in their body itself in addition to venom they use normally. So unless the chef is a good herpetologist I'd stear clear.

If only a very very few snake species have poison in their body then why steer clear?
