Just wondering if purchasing The Witcher 3 on the Epic Games Store will allow the game to be activated here on GOG? It would definitely be my preference to have all 3 Witcher games on the same platform.

Thanks.
Nope, it will not. It'll just be for Epic
Why not get all 3 Witcher games here instead?

You can get Witcher 1 for free here, and Witcher 2 is often on sale for cheap.

They are having a sale on Epic Store so they probably just want to take advantage of that then was hoping to redeem the code here.

They only have the third game on the Epic store anyway and The Witcher series tends to go on sale pretty frequently on GOG so it's best to just wait.

I would guess it would be b/c Witcher 3: Complete is $5 on Epic Store, AFTER the usage of a $10 coupon.

You can get $10 off coupons by grabbing GTA5 for free and/or buying stuff on the Epic store.

So, I guess the next question is: is there any DRM on the TW3 version on Epic Store?

I guess some ask b/c of the way Ubi games work. Would be nice, if CDPR games could be linked from Epic over to GOG.

Some games like Ubi games - you can buy the game via Epic; link your Epic and Ubi accounts together activate to it over UPLAY; and then use UPLAY to download & play the game instead.

I did this w/ GR: Breakpoint.

I was like "Wow. there is Two Worlds 3 as well?!? How on earth have I missed the news?".

That's how they've always done that for any title requiring Uplay that's not sold as a Ubisoft Connect code.

Does purchasing the Witcher 3 on GOG unlock it on EGS or steam?

I've had the first 2 here on GOG for years... was hoping the EGS version of TW3 would activate here as well so I could have all 3 titles here on GOG.

Buying TW3 on Humble Store gives you a GOG key, so it's a valid question.
I wouldn't be surprised if TW3 (just the base version) turns up as an Epic free game later this year anyway...right about when Cyberpunk launches.

Why would they help the competition promote their store? If it will be free, it will be on GOG. Likely some time after a new witcher game is released.

CD Project Red and GOG are sister companies and they have historically allowed for copies of Witcher games to be able to be activated here on GOG, even when bought elsewhere. For example, I purchased the original DVD version of Witcher 1, which I later activated here on GOG. I purchased Witcher 2 on Steam, which I activated here on GOG as well.

Insofar as it is a Witcher game and given the relationship between GOG and CD Project Red, I think it's a particularly valid question to ask.

Yeah, it's not like they're currently doing that for Rockstar or anything. It'd be total lunacy if EGS did similar for GOG!

That was because The first and second game weren't available on GOG at release. The Witcher 3 was and it would be stupid of them to encourage people thinking that buying from other stores gives you a GOG copy since then nobody would buy from GOG.
