Nah, the forums are fine as they are, GOG's curators on the other hand...

But if I was to nitpick, the one thing that bugs me on the forum is that search results are a chaotic mess, I'd really like to have some sorting options.

I think it is fine except the search system...

Cowboys in Greece? I thought that country was 90% mountains and shores!? Where the hell do you have cattle drives in Greece? :P

Cattle drive-ins, tenderfoot.
I hate it when forums have a separate board for each little topic, I mean who the hell has the time/energy to open each individual subforum every time they visit the forum? With one general forum, you get a glance and can see various topics of interest on one page. Much more convenient.

Forums should have no more than a small handful of subforums, usually a main one and then some small ones like tech support.
I honestly thought this is going to be a talk about rum. And started thinking "How can rum be outdated? Maybe Shamy meant "old and matured"? That would make sense"

Anyway, I grew familiar with the forum and think it is nice. Search engine could be smarter. But various scripts and Barefoot essentials help a lot.

Excellent!

Shamy25: In my opinion, it really does feel old, bland and messy, with all sorts of topics in general discussion. A few different subforums would be nice. I would also appreciate if you could actually search for the comments you have posted on the forum and not just receive this bs "Sorry, but you haven't posted in the forums recently."

In addition to my rants, but not entirely related to the forum, why can I see the stats regarding the community wishlist "wishes added: , wishes voted: ; wishes fulfilled from all your votes: ", but I cannot see what are the wishes that I voted or the ones that I have added?
All very valid points. GOG knows about them and they just do not care.

However I don't think it looks old. Cheap and featureless of course, chaotic surely, but old? You mean old like the interface of a DOS programm compared to WIndows 10? Not sure. The design (except for the colors) is probably the best of it.

Licurg: ...And it'll get worse if they actually try to make it better.
Irrespective of any possible improvements, I'm sure all long time GOGers can agree with this point.
I'm not a fan of those forums that have about 5 posts per page with gigantic avatars, banners and stuff. It's good as it is minus the reputation system...

I think "Find all posts by <username>" and "Find all threads started by <username>" are necessary features.
i dont like the artificial limitation of searching own discussions. for examle once i discussed about (imaginary) game, kind of "daggerfall 2", with some amateur developer. many times i wanted to find th thread and také up it further, but this systém allows to find just recent contributions.

i dont understand such useless limitation.

why i cant feel free to find out even my first post in any thread here?
Forum itself is fine, reminds me a bit of the old days, moderation is gay, it's the internet goddamnit. Or are some people so young they don't remember 90's BBS-ses, IRC and forums. Revel in the anarchy and chaos. oh man
Need only more themes in the forums.
Solarized Dark would be perfect for the eyes, current dark theme is pretty good, but meh....

The white theme.... BURN IT WITH FIRE

Yeah yeah, I'll go to the old fart rant thread now.

It's usually pretty boring - industry folk talking among themselves etc. - and more than just a bit cliquy. I'm not sure that's outdated yet thougn, seems to be still very much in vogue on internet forums in general. I think it makes a refreshing change when, every so often, an ordinary gamer asks a question about games. Doesn't happen very often, granted, but it certainly catches my eye when it does !
One thing I find obnoxious is how topics where the first post is "low rated" appear as having been read, even when there are new posts. This makes it annoying if you are actually interested in the topic.

Also, I would like to see more people discussing games on the appropriate subforum, and specifically the games themselves rather than technical support, but that's not a problem with the forum software.
