Cavalary: While confirmations are always good, this thread is about the games that state that they DON'T run on Win 7, to check whether that's actually true or just a case of the devs and GOG not guaranteeing or not even testing it, or they work with issues that won't be fixed.
Not to worry, I understand that.

Oddeus: Vesper - Confirmed to work on Win 7. No info on Win 8.1.
Works fine on Windows 8.1 with 471.68 nvidia drivers.
Useful thread! Got it bookmarked. My W7 rig thanks you very much! ;)

Just curious... Is it permitted to ask about a game in here? I read the rules and saw no mention of this, but just wanted to be sure. Hope it's not considered bad manners?

If it is allowed...

I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on Archvale. It's listed as a W10/W11 game and there's no demo on GOG for me test it out prior to purchasing. Strangely enough, the game page makes no mention of any DirectX requirement either.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. :)

Keep up the good work!

Of course you can ask! This thread is for helping people :)

I can´t post the link here, but the only info I found is from a pirate site:

ОС: Windows 7 (x64)
Процессор: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 или AMD Phenom II X2 550
Память: 4 Гб
Видео: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT, 512 Mб или AMD Radeon HD 7570, 1 Гб
DirectX: 9.0c/10/11/12

I can´t confirm it, since I don´t have the game.

I can confirm that Archvale works fine under W7 (it uses DirectX 11).

Thanks for reaching out to me and for the info, even if you couldn't confirm it personally. ;)
EDIT: Maybe it can be added to your list since it has been confirmed by AB2012?

I see that not only GOG games are mentioned.

I recently purchased (from Battle.net) and run Diablo 2: Resurrected under Windows 7 with a simple workaround:
https://quoramarketing.com/how-to-play-diablo-2-resurrected-on-windows-7/

I'm very happy about that because I promised a friend to play coop and I wasn't thrilled about installing Windows 10 for just that. Unfortunately this method does not work for Blizzard Arcade Collection.

Oddeus: Nanotale Typing Chronicles - the official minimum requirements say Win 7 and above.
Following up on my earlier post, I am afraid you are going to have to edit this one. I finally bought Nanotale and tried it for myself. While it is technically playable, the cutscenes are broken. A little more searching and I found this bug report on the Steam forums. Apparently there was a bug which was fixed for Windows 10 users but will not work on Windows 7. Some issue with the version of Unity or something apparently. The Developer even states: "Hello. Windows 7 is not supported by the game". I will be following up in that Steam thread recommending the Dev updates their website.

I personally will be refunding my copy since I don't want to play an incomplete experience, but if anyone doesn't care about the cinematics or just plans on trying to watch them on Youtube or something the game did seem to play fine otherwise once past the cinematic. Although I didn't play for very long to test it, so "your mileage may vary" as they say.
Dungeon Town

https://www.gog.com/game/dungeon_town

While it does list Win7 as a supported system, I observed some caveats.

First, I tested it in a Win7 virtual machine, but I don't know how much a Win7 virtual machine differs from being installed as a computer's main OS, so sorry if those issues are due to those circumstances.
Now, without the unrated DLC, it would crash for me as soon as the developer's logo appeared. This does not happen with Wine on Linux, so it's probably an issue with either Win7 on virtual machines, or Win7 overall.
Then, once I installed the DLC and got the game running, CGs and character portraits in dialogue windows seemed to glitch a lot. CGs would black out and randomly appear for short periods when an animation happens, and portraits would get broken pixels randomly. Worth noting I was playing in fullscreen, and it seems the game has major issues with fullscreen on Wine, so I'm not entirely sure if the graphic issues I got on Win7 are related to Win7 specifically.

I have Win10 installed on another partition, so maybe I should test the game on it as well to make sure if the issues are specific to certain environments or not.

Edit: indeed, no graphical issues in Win10, so I think it can be narrowed to either an issue with Win7 or with virtual machines.

Aperture Desk Job works perfectly on Win 7, you just need a controller (though there are some workarounds, I just do not recommend to play it without one).

Well, thanks, but this game is not available at Gog. Please correct me, if I´m wrong, but I couldn´t find it with the game search.

Yep, I know, and prolly never will be, just informing those who might be interested. Couldn't find a better thread and I'm not going to start a new one. ;)

There's always MS-DOS.;-))
Hello again! :) I'm back with another inquiry... Just wondering if anyone here can confirm if Lacuna is W7-friendly? I received a newsletter discount for this game but when I glance at it's official store page, there is conflicting information. Under "Game Details" on the right panel, it states that the game works on W7. However, when scrolling down to the "System Requirements", it says that W10 is a minimum requirement. :/

My gut feeling is telling me that W7 should be able to handle this DirectX 11 game, but I'd prefer getting feedback from a community member who has indeed tested or played this game on W7. Thanks in advance! :)
